There is so much delicious angst.
This book really has it all. Takes place in a high school setting. Young male spots and Instantly wants new young female arrival to the school. But he plays it cool. It’s not until some other student tries asking her out that he goes up and finally speaks to her...just to whisper “no.” It’s the mind@&$? courtship. He doesn’t really want to date her. But doesn’t want anyone else to either. She’s determined to buck some of his dominance and has a tendency to run off. He typically chases. He’s also capable of completely freezing her out. I cried. What she felt, I felt. It was written in such a way my heart broke right along with her. When he finally realizes his mistake she’s gotten really sick. She just was not eating. Some of the best parts of this book are how Josh cares for her after her collapse(as well as before it.)He’s actually a VERY attentive boyfriend. Carrie honestly had a hard time trusting him due to the issues she has with her mom. He wanted instant trust and devotion and she wasn’t quite there yet, she is a feisty heroine who is not just going to do as she is told!! No. Not her. Even though sometimes she really is just spiting herself. Very good story!! Very steamy as well!! The hero is extremely dominant. The story evolved from the authors love of twilight. There are many parallels without the paranormal element. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

Awesome Read
Jordan Silver you did it again. This was a fantastic story with awesome characters, a great plot, drama, secrets, violence and a love that knows no boundaries. For her to be able to capture the essence of who Josh and Carrie are meant to be together and relay it all in such a humorous, dramatic and intense way was what captivated me about this book and kept me hanging on to the edge of my seat as I read.I am not sure that Josh is seventeen years old, can't be. If he is just seventeen and behaving like this now, what the heck is he going to be like the older he gets? He ain't no boy at seventeen that's for sure. Oooohhhhh he is fiiine and a true 'Dominant Alpha'.Carrie girl (crazy and demented), but one feisty diva that is able to give as good as she gets. Wow even though she has been through a lot growing up, she was still able to overcome all those obstacles and hold her head up high. I am happy that she was able to rebuild her relationship with her dad and now they are in a much better place.

Great book for adults who do not have certain triggers. Mild spoilers contained in this review.
Mild Spoilers: I enjoyed reading this book a lot. The H is OTT possessive and jealous, which I loved. The H had experience but was not a manhole. He stopped being with other women in any way once he met her. He was totally devoted to her. This author usually writes a lot of erotica but this book, in my opinion would not qualify although there is a plenty of hot s_x. It is longer than the majority of the author’s books. It is around 219 pages whereas most of her books are 100 pages and under. I am very happy that there is no cheating and there is a happy ending. It is one of my keepers.I loved the book but I know that it contains some triggers for some readers. There is their issue of their ages. I have children their ages and agree in reality would not want the H anywhere near my 17-year-old daughter. However, this is a romance book and the same rules I apply to my life are not the same ones for the books I read. I enjoy readings about OTT possessive men but would have a restraining order against most of them in real life. (My husband is so not OTT possessive and so it nice to read about men who are.) I do not mind that they are young. It is unusual to have OTT possessive heroes be teenagers and so I liked that. There is issue of the spanking and one time he did use a belt (or whatever he used. I do not want to go back and reread that part to be sure.) I agree that one scene was too much I normally avoid books that the couple if love add pain to their relationship for whatever reason. However in my limited experience, this was not a D/S book. No other actions/behavior that could indicate that. Also there was no labeling of d/s, no words and clubs. It was a way for him to control her. (I am not saying it is ok or not ok for him to spank her for that reason, just stating what was explained the reader.)Another trigger for some is the cursing. If so, avoid this book because it contains it. If none a readers triggers are mentioned above, then I believe it is a good book for an adult reader. Even though in my opinion, it is not erotic per se, there is some s_x in it and so I would not let any of my teenagers read it.

Suspend your disbelief for this one...
And I had a lot of it, believe me. I had several issues with this book, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Josh was first and foremost an arrogant, rich, domineering and presumptuous jerk. In other words - an alphahole. Carrie was a foul-mouthed, tempestuous, bitchy shrew. Put them together and you have a dynamic couple vying for the upper hand in the relationship. Of course, the hero wins the war, and the heroine finds she likes having rules and boundaries, so it all works out. I did like the character development of the hero, although I found the actions that led up to his self-realization to be implausible. No way do I believe the heroine would react so quickly and so self-destructively. Now this won't be everyone's cup of tea. I happen to like handsome, presumptuous jerks in my fiction, as long as they treat the heroine with love and tenderness. Which he did - mostly. I also had to adjust their ages in my mind to college, because I just couldn't believe the characters' actions as it is written, no matter how much of an "old soul" the hero was. Also, the author's blatant disregard for the rules of punctuation made me want to slap her. Repeatedly. However, the hero was so OTT alpha, the heroine so OTT bitchy and vulnerable, I couldn't help but enjoy the story. It was melodramatic and angsty - like a soap opera. Take it for what it's worth and enjoy!
