Bobble Body Robby
True this is not a classic designed bobble head. It is better.1. The design of this Wobbler is the most proportioned of any wobbler I have seen.because of its shape Robby bobbles from the waist up.when not bobbling it is a intricately designed model truer to the original than any of the recently released bobbleheads.2. The color looks bronze in the ads but its more of a gun metal gray. It looks quite nice, I was pleased that it was not the bronze color shown.3. This bobble head is a composite of two types of plastic, The clear plastic face covering is nice and the detail beneath it.4. Posed in it's classic out stretched arms position. It is not designed to look silly, it has a forbbiden planet feel about it.If you want a bobbling bobble headed Robby, this is not the one.If you want a bobbling bobble bodied Robby get this one.If you don't like Bobble heads but you like Robby, get this one. The attention to detail and the price make this a very good buy.You may have seen the chrome colored version offered also. I can't see what the appeal is to a Robby the robot fan but for a bobble head collector it may be something to get in addition to the more authetic looking gun metal gray one.The artist attention to the smallest detail are going to give the Robby Bobble head very long lasting popularity.Right now the market is flooded with these and they are inexpensive. You can expect that to change.

"I Rarely Use It Myself, Sir... It Promotes Rust"
So said Robby the Robot in the movie "Forbidden Planet" (1956). It was his reply when the astronauts of the United Planets Cruiser C57-D observed that the planet Altair IV's atomosphere contained a high oxygen content. If Robby wasn't filmdom's first robotic comedian, he certainly was its most droll. Following the release of the movie, Robby swiftly became a science fiction icon, starring two years later in "The Invisible Boy", and today remains as much a part of 1950's pop culture as James Dean and '57 Chevys. I suppose one could (arguably) state that he is the most famous robot ever created. And yes, I also love Gort from "The Day The Earth Stood Still", and the "Lost In Space" Robot B-9 (also both available as bobbleheads). But Robby has always been my personal favorite. This Funko Robby the Robot Wacky Wobbler is a top quality product with surprisingly accurate detail. There are many collectible versions of Robby on the market, many of which carry fairly hefty price tags. I wanted a low priced Robby around this size for display purposes, and this one fits the bill perfectly. For awhile, the prices on this item seemed to be on the rise, and I was kicking myself for not picking one up earlier on. I don't know if a new batch of these has been released, or what the reason is, but all of a sudden they seem to now be plentiful at a price only a third to a half of what they had been selling for. Needless to say, I jumped on it when the opportunity presented itself, and am extremely happy with my purchase. There are also a number of differently colored, limited-edition versions of this Robby bobblehead on the market, but I wanted to stick with the one that looked the most realistic, so far as the movie is concerned. As I mentioned in some of my other reviews, I generally do not remove my toys or action figures from their original packaging, and this is indeed the case with Robby. He currently sits in his window display box on a bookcase in my TV room right next to my Funko Saucer Man Wacky Wobbler. Not having been out of his box, I can only describe Robby's attributes to a point. As has been mentioned by several other reviewers, due to his design, Robby is really a bobble-body rather than a bobblehead. His coloring and design features seem to be pretty consistent with how he appears in the movie. About the only thing I would have liked to have seen different is his lower body stance. The bobblehead version has him with both legs moulded together on his pedestal base as a single piece, whereas I think he would look better in a more conventional two-legged stance. I understand this is probably for stabilty of the figure (many of the bobbleheads produced use more or less the same posturing of the figures), as well as a method of keeping sculpting and production costs a bit lower. Of course, I knew this prior to purchasing, so it's not like there's anything disappointing about it. It's simply an observation. The best thing about this Robby the Robot bobblehead is it is NOT a caricature or cartoonish version with an oversized head. It really is a pretty accurate rendering of this famous robotic icon, and at its current price level, is an absolute steal. If you're into this sort of thing at all (and you probably are, or you wouldn't be looking at this product or reading this review), my advice is to pick one up while prices are low. If prices start to rise again, who knows if they will ever come back down. Either way, this figure is a worthy addition to any science fiction or classic movie lover's collection. I know that mine will certainly be a treasured collectible for years to come.

Nice, But..
Interesting novelty, but unfortunately I didn't check carefully any detailed description before purchasing. Thought it was a wind up. Disappointed.

They need to make more like this
I'm not into wacky wobbly things, but this scale model of Robby is pretty cool. Now if only they'd make more like this instead of the ginormous bobbing heads, like the Lost in Space B9, Cylons, etc, I'll buy 'em.

Been a fan of robots for a long time and wanted to have something like Robby the Robot for a while. This wobbler doesn't disappoint. It is what it is.

Robby - Great Product
I have always loved the movie Forbidden Planet. I was looking online for a model kit of Robby The Robot and came across this product. The other models were quite expensive. This is a really good likeness and it is well made.I think that it is good value for money.I hope that the maker of this product produces more models.

Endlich gefunden
Wer Robby nicht kennt, unbedingt googlen. Es gibt in Deutschland (und auch in der EU) fast nichts von ihm. Umso glücklicher war ich den Robby Bobble Head gefunden zu haben. Verarbeitung 1a, Preis angemessen.
