PAM8610 Dual Channel DC 12V Pure Digital Audio Stereo Amplifier PCB Board Class D 10W x 2 High Power Amplifier Module

This unit was bought to mainly review the PAM magnetics IC power amp.. and it didn't disappoint for sound quality and durability. It's a little wonky to set up and use - owing to the small footprint - but may work for those who just need something to go between a walkman, PC, Phone, or other low level headphone jack out. Unit did get warm touching the heat sink when stressed/driven hard.. but as long as you don't overdrive relentlessly.. should present no issues of reliability. Sonically balanced output.. don't expect to do extended bass.. unless at lower output levels. Great little unit for the price!

This is a great mini amp for small project.

Mine was missing the black jumper that's visible in the white connector next to the volume control potentiometer. That's basically the on-off switch. I figured out the problem, solved it by adding a jumper, then later saw it clearly pictured! The amp does its job just fine and is efficient as advertised. It generates almost no heat at the low audio volumes I use it. It can put out far more power than I need for a pair of bookshelf speakers. Audio quality is excellent to my ears.*Edited: The little fella did great, then one day about a week after setting it up, I left it sitting on for about 24 hours (which I had done a few times by then) and it died rather unpleasantly while I was out of the house. I returned to hear these unhappy quite loud clicking noises. The little heatsink was hotter than a fry pan, and the device is confirmed dead, dead, dead. It gets very hot very fast when powered on. The chip is unquestionably fried.It wasn't under any load at all so the untimely demise is an actual malfunction, not any sort of overload or misuse. Nice device, but not so durable in my case. I took away one star. Can't really hate on it. I probably just got a lemon.

It worked for a bit. Then it began working intermittently. I assumed it was defective. I returned the product and am hesitant to buy another. I would risk buying from the company again. Perhaps not this specific product.

Works great, my one complaint is that the led is way too bright.

These are nice little amps based on the Diodes Inc PAM8610 Filterless Class D Stereo Amp. It follows the standard circuit in most respects. The only place where it is out of spec is the Mute input- this input is not supposed to exceed 5v and they have it tied to Vin- not fatal but could reduce life. Pretty clean and efficient amp for 5+ watts into 8 ohms with 12v input. The 10+ watt rating is optimistic and only achievable at 15+ volts, where you're pretty close to the abs max. I've used them in several projects driving 4 and 8 ohm speakers running off of 12v and get 5+ good low distortion watts. Efficiency and quiescent power are very good.
