Great replacement for the original!
Owned the previous PVR which was easy to use and provided probably the best recording option at the time until very recently but was not without its flaws & other capture cards are starting to catch up and get on par very rapidly e.g. the elgato; but the new PVR improves in nearly every way which includes:1) less cables to hook up (ps3 still needs component input but all of the cables are condensed into one single A/V cable which takes up alot less space) as it uses HDMI output and input for xbox this time.2) able to record in 1080p on xbox but has not changed on ps3 with 720p and 1090i still available but 720 is the best all round for youtube in my opinion.2) box itself is alot less smaller which is always a good thing to be in the capture card biz.3) with the new updates the software is better than the total media software.4) picture quality has improved as i noticed i had to do less image and color correction in sony vegas when using the new PVR.5) the pesky black lines that plagued the older PVR have virtually disappeared with only a tiny black line on the side for me.6) the button on the corner of the PVR acts as a recording button so no need to go to the computer to start as long as the software is open and ready.Only real flaw i can think of with this new PVR is the 4 - 8 second delay in recording on the computer but if you are an anticipatory recorder like me recording as soon as you get into a game then you should be ok. One other little annoyance i found is that recording in M2TS like in the previous PVR makes it useless in sony vegas as the video is put in but no sound, i think it is due to sony vegas not recognizing an audio codec change or something but this may just be a ps3 problem have not tried it on xbox.In summary this game capture product is the leader in the market in my opinion but as i have not used any other other then hauppauge i would say this but i have researched the other market leaders and i have come to the conclusion this goes toe to toe with the best and holds its own; defiantly a worth while purchase and also ignore these 1* ratings for the product they dont know what they are talking about.

Quite Honestly Amazing!
I have known about this product for a while and always thought is was worth the money from clips of games etc I had seen on Youtube. Buying it has just 100% confirmed it. The quality of the captured footage is absolutely outstanding and is in a very manageable file size. There are 3 different video formats it records in which are very easy to change back and forth between recordings. The box contained everything I needed to start recording including: The HD PVR itself, USB Cable to connect to PC/Laptop (This was a decent size in length, could have been longer but still suitable), Component video cables to connect from HD PVR to TV, IR Blaster for use with a universal remote, Power lead, Install disc icluding capture and editing software. If there's anything I have missed, sorry :PSetting it up was a doddle as everything was labelled accurately and the quick setup guide was very easy to understand yet detailed. Even my mother could set this up if given to her. The installation of software and drivers gave clear instructions of how to start recording etc and overall the process of plugging in the HD PVR and installing the software took about 15 - 20 mins. I must admit sorting out the cables to look nice behind the TV was a tad messy but that is just because i'm an OCD freak. One improvement point to make it look neater is to have one slightly thicker component cable not 5 individual ones for each colour but i'm just nit picking as it all works and looks completely fine now :P I have now been working with the HD PVR for about a week and have collected some footage and uploaded it on to YouTube for you all to see, I hope this helps in making your choice to buy this excellent product: Multiple Game Footage - [...]Overall the product is absolutely amazing and would absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting to record game footage or TV shows as it produces excellent results time after time. If you are concerned over the price then don't be as it's worth every single penny. :D
