Great boots so far.
I have always worn Belville's, but the new coyote version does not fit the same and the sizes are different. I decided to make an extreme departure to what I was used to and get something light and comfortable. The Altama Maritime Assault fit as expected. Build quality and materials are "good": there is some noticeable glue overlap around the toe box. Laces are fine but I replaced them with coyote 550 chord which fits without issue and color matches the original laces. Overall, very happy with this purchase and they are far lighter and more comfortable than my newer Belville boots. I'll be interested to see how they hold up under work and daily use conditions.

Military Grade Chucks!!!
Bought these for my husband, Chuck Taylors that have joined the military, got shredded and possibly have taken steroids. The material feels very tough but at the same time flexible, he says they fit like skate shoes, and didn’t need any breaking in. He works around a lot of water and says they dry out super quick and are nice and airy.

Not built for comfort
Rubbery support that comes out with your foot. Very insulated, and not breathable. No arch at all. Looks cool, but that's about it.

4.5 stars! Excellent alternative for work boots, not quite a replacement
I bought these for work because every body raves about them. I strayed away from them for quite some time, because honestly they look like a pair of converse and i'm used to wearing boots. I never had an issue with wearing boots all day long, but I thought I'd try wearing different pairs for different occasions and missions. So I caved in and finally bought a pair.WOW, is my first impression. It's definitely not like wearing boots. In fact, think of a sturdier, more cushioned version of a pair of converse. They are super light, and fit true to size. I purchased 8.5 wide, which is the same size as my running shoes, and I usually buy a 8.5 wide in boots, or a 9 wide if I want more space in the toe box (boots with composite toes). So they are light, but pretty flat (just like a pair of converse) which means very little arch support. You can definitely feel the ground you are walking on because the bottoms are flat and there isn't much cushion. The soles are super sticky, and great for wet environments, it's probably the stickiest bottoms I've had. If you know anything about these boots/shoes you know they are meant for. The insoles are water proof, and is made of foam. They don't provide much cushion. The boot itself is not waterproof, and will absorb water just like any type of canvas material or cushion. You will definitely feel the water soaking in fast. However, there are drains on the side so the boot doesn't become waterlogged. They do dry out super fast. They are meant to be worn barefoot with no socks on. With socks, your feet might get a little smelly. I highly recommend either replacing the insoles or putting some on top of the existing ones. It makes it that much more comfortable and allows to wear them comfortably 24/7.Things I wish, I wish there was a composite toe option. I feel like that's something they easily could have put in. Even with that said. I don't think this would replace my normal work boots completely, as much as I would love to wear these all the time. I catch myself wearing them outside of work sometimes, they are just that easy to slip on and walk around. A waterproof version might be nice, then again it might defeat the purpose of the design of the boot.So if you are looking for a boot to splash around in puddles and the rain and expect your feet to be dry, this might not be for you. But if you need something light, will provide traction in just about any wet surface or conditions and something to go in the water with (and possibly have to swim with) that will dry out fast, this is what you need.Overall, I give it a 4.5 stars.

Started to come apart after one month
The shoes are comfy, but the seam between the toe box and the rest of the shoe started to pull apart only one month after I started wearing them.
