" Enjoy!
I decided to buy this after reading about the laborious process by which this seaweed salt is hand-made made using an ancient technique.Tonight, I rubbed a small amount on a chuck roast, slow roasted in the oven and wow, the flavor that was brought out of the meat was quite the umami bomb.To give you an idea of how much is in the 300 gram bag, check the attached photos. The grain is not to big or not too small. The particles stick together slightly. Doesn’t need a grinder and from the color, many minerals must be included. For color and texture comparison, please refer to the photo of a sample of Maldon sea salt flakes from the UK.In case you want to know more, "The seawater comes from Kenmin no Hama Beach next to the salt works. Facing out to a broad open expanse of the Seto Inland Sea, the beach is one of the purest sources of the sea's famously rich brine. The seaweed, known colloquially as hon’dawara, and more commonly as tamamo, is grown and dried across the straits at the Ainan district of Ehime prefecture."Enjoy!

Perfect with sashimi!
After watching the "Salt" episode of Samin Nosrat's "Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat" series on Netflix, I knew I had to order amabito no moshio as an alternative condiment to soy sauce for sashimi. A light sprinkling of this salt on sashimi-grade fluke and hamachi gives one a taste beyond compare. Unlike soy sauce, the seaweed salt brings out the natural sweetness of the fish. I'm sure it will also serve well as a finishing salt for Wagyu steak. I am hooked...truly happy to add amabito no moshio to my salt collection.

Get this if you understand the value of fleur de sel or sel gris
This seaweed salt is quite delicious. Noticeable umami hit compared to other sea salt. Very potent so only use a little at a time. This is one of the few moshio available on US amazon, but if you are curious about other Japanese salts you can find them on JP amazon if you can read Japanese or get by with google translate. That being said, this is actually a decent price for it so the extra effort would mostly be for your curiosity.

Exquisitely created salt...one crystal at a time!
A finely presented salt crystal. What's this taste like? Is it worth the trouble to order? Is it a value product worth it's price? Well, read on!The other reviews engender romantic ideas of an artisan crafting a Miami delivering taste bomb to your anxiously waiting taste buds!Well, as you can see in the photo...the salt crystals are very fine. That's the 2 ends of my chopstick picking up a couple of grains each. And as you can see, the grains are a very light beige. The kelp helps to create this color.Furthermore, the taste is light, almost dainty. For you salt fanatics who have tasted Maldon salt flakes from the United Kingdom...the Maldon flakes look like tiny snowflakes. And their British flavor hits you square in the jaw. Conversely, this salt is more subtle. And you feel a crunchy-ness as you bite down feeling each grain of salt.If I had to be honest, this salt is like being a king where your salt is prepared by an old master in which each grain of salt is meticulously prepared and then inspected for uniformity. Each grain is perfect. Oh my god.Have you ever moved your fingers through the lightest, fluffiest sand in the world where each grain of sand weighed nothing. Your fingers could feel each grain as if they were feathers! But how does it taste? In spite of it's perfection, I did not find the flavor to be spectacular. Sadly, I would not buy it again. I put it on fresh tuna sashimi and I preferred wasabi over the salt.I will try it on a steak but searching for umani flavor on a steak...well, I will update this then! So, this is exquisite salt! Each grain is perfect. But I have not yet found the food that rises to great news when this salt is applied.Buy it. Buy it with confidence that you are buying an exquisitely created salt.UPDATE 26 JAN 2019Did you say "KETO"? What is this HEAVY stuff mean? So, you're on this new adventure with being fat adapted, which means that instead of your body & brain wanting sugar/carbs that turn into glucose/glycogen...you burn both sugars AND fats. So, how can this help? Well, read on...As YOU can see in the photo...this heavy coconut cream is thick! Much thicker than the Thai coconut used only for soups...yummy there. I just pulled this out of the refrigerator and it is like loose jello before it has fully hardened. You can see the indentation still on the surface from my spoons scoop. And in the photo you see my Saturday morning HEAVEN. There is the metal coffee drip filter which I used with a doubled coffee filter which had been rinsed with ordinary tap water to remove paper flavors...so, you see a 3 day cold brewed French Roast fine grind coffee slider that has NO BITTERNESS & IT IS NATURALLY SWEET TOO. 2 TABLE of Heavy Coconut Cream...and today stronger Vietnamese rather than Madagascar cinnamon sitting right on top of my coffee. Then, my home grown limes which I tested with a MICROPLANE wonder. This zest adds a subtle brightness to my cup of Joe! Peruvian organic cacao sits on the left glass jar...none today. On the right are salt from Maldon in the UK and a Japanese seaweed salt in which each grain seems to be "handmade" from the inland seas...magical.But I digress! The coconut flavor is spectacular! In case you didn't get it, it's simply out of this world!Does it taste like raw coconut? Well, actually it tastes like heavy cow's cream which sat in a mound of fresh coconut pulp overnight. If someone didn't tell you there's no dairy and that there is coconut...YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY MISS IT COMPLETELY. Again, just a slight hint of coconut. As YOU stir it...it gently evenly mixes with my cold coffee.Recall, this keto friendly coffee has NO BITTERNESS because I brewed it without the heat which pulls out the acidic oils that are bitter! So, my coffee is deeeeee icious! Want some? I know you do.The kiss of zested lime sits on the top of my cup as if it was a floral note...like sipping coffee on the front porch of a bungalow on the island of Bora Bora after a gentle rain left birds chirping on the still damp leaves...sipping coffee, watching the sun rise, feet up on a railing...letting the mind wander over the best Heavy Coconut Cream with lime zest, Vietnamese cinnamon and cold-brewed coffee. Heaven! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...now, I have sprinkled Amabito No No ship salt on my cold-brewed coffee. For you folks on KETO, you need extra salt...and these Amabito grains add a tiny hint of the sea. I change my review to BUY THIS AND KEEP IT ON YOUR KITCHEN TABLE. IT IS A VERY SPECIAL SALT!

Very subtle yet salty
Ordered it like everyone else, after watching the show. It's subtle, yet salty at the same time. Loved how it is made, but it's not as earth shattering as I had expected and is similar to other fine salts, such as fluer de sel.

Delicious
It took this about a month to be delivered. However, it was worth the wait. It is delicious. I have used it on grilled steak and on a crock pot chuck roast and veggies. It is wonderful!! I will definitely be ordering it again.

Wonderful
Really great flavor. A little goes a long way. One interesting thing is the aftertaste, which is extremely long lasting and quite pleasant. Perfect finishing salt.
