They work great!
I only have water in mine and I've had some crazy wind in Maricopa, AZ and the umbrella does not move.

Durable Stand
I was skeptical about getting this base as the reviews were very mixed but it seems there were only 2 bases that were compatible with my BCP umbrella and the other choice didn’t have the best reviews so went with this option. I’ve had the base for 2 weeks now and it seems to be very sturdy. It was easy to put together and the base is holding up. I did buy 4 bags of play sand from Home Depot to put in the base as I read in reviews it was better than water. But after waiting for the base to arrive and having the sand bags sitting in this hot weather... the sand became damp inside the bags and we were unable to pour it smoothly in the base spout... therefore we decided to just fill up the base with water. Seems to be an easy fix and will be easy to just pour out at the end of the summer and store away... rather than messy sand. People complained about leaks in the base and we haven’t had that issue.. so just check to make sure before filling up with water... that there aren’t any holes where the base is glued in the seams. Also... the base is big once put together and I’m guessing leak problems can be caused from people standing on the base. I recommend not standing on the base at all as body weight can probably cause leakage down the line of the base cracks. Lastly for those who have complained about the metal holders not fitting properly... it is true but the trick is to tilt each plate to fit the rod in.. once the rods are in the holes...put the plate down and push the metal rod down. Do this for all four plates and easy breezy! I don’t think the holes are made to have the rods fit right in anyway. Tilting it gives the plates better stability and a tighter fit.For those opting to use sand- Our original plan: We used an old 2 liter soda bottle, cut it in half... and while one held the bottle to the spout.. the other should pour the sand... but as mentioned before... our sand was damp from the humidity so it wouldn’t pour through the spout. So use your sand right away. So far... I am pleased with the base and haven’t had any issues.

It really is a 5 star product…
My only reason for going 4 stars rather than 5 is because of they aren’t easy to fill with sand. They make it out to be much easier than it is. I feel they could have made the fill hole larger. If you’re filling with water then you likely won’t have the issues I had but I’ve seen some like these crack in the past and the water drain away and you don’t notice until the umbrella is knocked over and blowing away. All in all I do love the product though.

Cheap!!! Doesn’t last
The media could not be loaded. Clearly I’m not the only person having this problem. the water leaks right out! Poorly designed and cheaply made. Waste of money !!!!! Do not recommend

Great umbrella base
I purchased this for my 10 ft umbrella and it's perfect. It's been through storms and hasn't moved or tipped. We filled it with sand vs water. This purchase has worked out perfectly.

Needs pliers
Stability is good has held a large cantilevered umbrella without tipping in a decent wind.I used water vs sand as fill and only issue was they should have instructed you to use pliers to tighten completely so water does not dribble out

Good heavy base to support cantilever umbrella.
I filled components with water, rather than sand. So far, so good!
