It's alright it did the job
I used this textbook for class and it helped me get A's on my paper. the context in the book was a lot ad the course was outlined by this book. The condition of the book was for sure used but it was not terrible. The book was not hard cover but it did the job when I rented it for the fall semester.

"like new" condition almost accurate
I am satisfied with the condition of this book and the price I paid for it. However, it arrived in slightly different condition than it was described as being. This book's condition was listed as "like new," and for the vast majority of pages of the book, I would agree. There was, however, throughout the first 20 pages of the book, a brown water spot (coffee spill?). For my purposes as a student, this is not a problem, and indeed, there are no notes or highlighting throughout the text, which was my priority. However, the definition of "like new" is pretty specific, and had I been trying to buy a truly pristine copy as a gift, this book would not have met expectations.

Came very quickly and in good shape
The book was for a college class and we needed it both inexpensive and fast this seller managed both.

Too many markings
It is the book that I needed for my class... however there were a lot of markings in it... I can understand a little highlight or an underline every now and then, but in this book there are so many of them and whoever did it didn't take the care to underline the sentences correctly, so there are some of the passages that I could not read. The book was a necessity so I will deal with it... but because of the excessive markings I did not give five stars.

Used for a Class
I got this book for a class and found that I did not exactly use it all of the time but when I did I found that I got all of the information that I needed from it.

If you get the hard copy, add the Kindle version for $9.99
I have two problems with this book. The first is that there is really no reason for this book to be so expensive. How much does this information change over the years? The professor shouldn't have even assigned it.The second problem I have is too much coverage of architecture at the expensive of painting and sculpture. I realize that architecture is relevant, but the result is that nothing is covered adequately.Cons: Price and information choicePro: If you buy the book, you can get the Kindle version for just $9.99. This is fantastic. I can highlight sections on my iPad and the markings show up on my computer, and vice versa. Way better than the book.

In my view, Gardener's Art Through The Ages lacks ...
In my view, Gardener's Art Through The Ages lacks several elements necessary to make it a self taught or a more comprehensive book. For instance, a description of artwork should make it vivid the quintessential details such as time, place, medium, and more importantly, the the style. Artists use more than just one style in depicting artworks, and a self taught and comprehensive book should point out such quintessential facts and all styles used right away. The Iconography of artwork is another thing that has to be as vivid as possible without having to read entire chapter of a book. These facts, in my view, should always be spelt out in the close caption pertaining to every artwork.
