Bought this pair of pliers to replace treble hooks on some jerk baits. These split ring pliers worked perfectly for the #4 split rings used on my lures. The pliers also have cutters that work good on monofilament and fluorcarbon, but does not cut braided line cleanly. That's alright for me because I use serrated blade cutters for cutting braided line. The only thing I wish it had is a small loop on the handle to attach a leash because I plan using these while surf fishing. Not yet sure about it's corrosion resistance, but as with all fishing gear, I recommend using an anti corrosion spray such as WD-40 or CorrosionX after use in fresh or salt water. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Good quality with smooth action and a nice weight to them. Easy to open and close and closes tight. Lots of on the tool extras for bending ect.Solid finish that looks good but most importantly it will not rust. Even using these in a downpour and throwing them back in the box they have no rust and still have smooth open and close action. For in the hand perfectly and I don’t have a giant mitt so anything that’s easy to use one handed is a must have.Overall super happy with these and have yet to find something they can’t do. Have a long front end on these so they fit perfectly in any fish mouth. Heavy yet controllable enough to pull hooks out without ding more damage to fish.Great for the toolbox too. Helpful on those jobs where short needle nose won’t reach. Easy to open and close in tight spaces.

These pliers will work for split rings in a pinch, however I do not recommend if you are doing dozens of hook replacements. All around this is a nice quality pair of pliers to keep in the boat for anything you may need pliers for. If you are doing multiple split rings like I do (I paint and sell custom crankbaits) I would look elsewhere.

Good value

I wasn't sure if these basic split ring pliers would get the job done based on photos, but was pleasantly surprised. They are very "sharp" and have no issued openign up even the smallest split rings I have for micro jigs and can switch out the trebles for single in line hooks quickly. Would definitely reccomend a pair of these for the tackle box/bag as they are relatively small and would be handy whenever the need arises.

Light weight, heavy duty and do not rust. Very happy with purchase

these 9” pliers are quality made and the length will let you get 99% of the hooks out plus they fit great in my Tides sheath

I’ve only had them for a short time so I don’t know if they will get rusty and stuck. It would be nice if they had a spring open. Look to be good quality.
