After going through a couple of bamboo boards that were tooheavy, too small etc. we got this one and love it. nice big surface to chop vegies on. Perfect.

Tired of using wooden board that were always warping and difficult to clean. Bamboo is the best.

It arrived protectively boxed and shipping was very fast. In my desire to leave a more green imprint on Mother Earth, I decided this would be a great substitute to the poly boards and other materials that are used to make cutting boards. At least the bamboo will break down at the end of its use. I also like to think that the bamboo board is not treated with anything even though I couldn't verify it either way through Amazon. You can see by the presumptive description that they say everything short of: "Nothing is used to treat the wood". Again, I am not saying that they have but it would be nice if they said so. Regardless, the board is beautiful, but it has been marred by the adhesive that is used to hold a descriptive placard around the middle of the board. The adhesive is very thick and is similar to silicone in texture. It is an adhesive that is used in junk mail and is one that we come in contact with frequently. It doesn't harden and on most surfaces, comes off with a scrape of a nail, except this one. I did use my nail to get it off, but it was extremely tenacious and a chemical stain was left behind. The stain (2 places only and the size of 1/2 dime) is on each of the wide edges. It is very sad too because there are more ways to affix the cardboard placard then the method they used. This board is like a piece of art and I very much love it. It is too bad that such a careless method was used and that is why I rated it with 3 stars and I have no plans to return it. If another preparation had been used that left the board unmarred, I would have rated it with 5 stars even though I have not seen how it survives under the knife...it is that beautiful. The measurements of this board are 17 7/8" X 12 1/2".

I used this for the first time today to make bread. I made two loaves and used the print showing the size to measure my dough length. It was so easy! One loaf went into a bread pan, and the other one was a batard.

This is a great cutting surface. It is renewable so no harvesting of trees and it is pleasant to look at. It is also not a super hard material so your knives will keep their edge a little longer. I do not understand the move towards hardwoods as a cutting surface....all you do is dull your knives faster. One thing that may have caused some reviewers to give it less stars is that you have to take care of it. It may say dishwasher safe but don't ever ever ever put a wood or bamboo cutting board into the dish washer. It will dry out causing it to warp and crack and it will destroy it. Get cheap plastic "cutting boards" to cut raw meat on and put those into the dishwasher if you feel the need to put cutting surfaces into the dish washer. Also you have to apply mineral oil to any cutting board, including this one, at least once or twice a month depending on usage. This will help keep the board looking good and functional for years. I have had mine for at least a year, perhaps two, and have no problem with it whatsoever. Oh and the grooves are nice for catching the juice associated with cooked meats.

I have a small kitchen but like to cook proper food at home. This is the best for its size and quality. Highly recommend it; plus the oil to maintain it.

Malgré un aspect esthétique vraiment accrocheur, une rigole pour le jus des viandes pratique, une qualité au premier abord qui a l'air plus que correct, c'est une très grosse déception !La planche à moins de 2 mois, n'a pas servie une seule fois, ha si, sauf une fois en dessous de plat pour un moule à gâteau sortant du four,et la planche c'est déjà fendue en deux dans la longueur, suivie d'autres petites fissures qui apparaissent !Alors autant dire que pour l'aspect esthétique maintenant il faudra repasser, le jus de viande va finir tout sauf dans la rigole, et la qualité de votre "coeur de bambou", et bien c'est mon cœur et mon portefeuille qu'il a fait saigner !

cet article me parait solide, surface de travail importante, ne jure pas sur le plan de travail de ma cuisine...je ne le laverai pas en machine pour le garder longtemps à cause du collage des deux embouts en bois blanc.

Ho acquistato questo tagliere e quando mi è arrivato a casa le due parti che compongono l tagliere non combaciavano, creando esattamente al centro del tagliere una fessura da cui si vedeva attraverso. Restituito.
