Borderlands Game of the Year Edition Xbox One (Physical Version)

Exactly what I was looking for!

I was so happy to play this game and add it to my collection but when I opened up the package, and then the case, there was no game in sight! I requested a return and then got accused of lying for a free game, really upset about this

Borderlands is perfection.

This review is not about Borderlands 1, but the quality of the remaster.I bought this remaster right when it came out. I've been a huge fan of borderlands 1 for years, spending hundreds of hours in game. This remaster was a huge disappointment. It did improve a couple of things, but the severity of the problems that were left alone is too blatant to ignore.Broken equipment is still an issue, most notably the hunter COM. The cooldown reduction version does not work at all. I've contacted their support about it, but the fix never came. If they couldn't be bothered to fix such a n obvious and low effort problem for the remaster, or a customer's attention to it, how could they be expected to fix any other problems?No fast travels in DLCs. This isn't that big of a deal, except for the armory DLC, which becomes barely playable without the use of them. Apparently they were neglected because of some weird contract terms regarding the definition of DLC or something. Nothing was stopping them from implementing them in this remaster though.No swap stash. In borderlands 2, they brought over a swap stash mechanic. This allowed you to trade guns without the need for a third party. This was such an obvious addition, I have no idea why they failed to add this feature.Roland's turret is still barely usable. Roland is my favorite character in borderlands 1, but his action skill is painfully flawed. The turret has a 100 second cooldown by default. That is terrible. If you fail to deploy it right, you cannot reclaim it for a mulligan. It also disappears when you go into fight for your life. It is practically useless, and they easily could have used turret improvements they learned from later games.Car health scaling in late game. The car's health regen is not percentage based, so the higher health car in later levels has incredibly slow health regen. This is especially bad considering how much damage is done to your car in late game. At some point it is more efficient to destroy your car, and get a new one, than to wait for your current car to regen health.There are many other problems that were never addressed, but these ones stick out the most in my mind. Gearbox didn't even work on the remaster BTW, they hired some 3rd party company to work on it, like some cheap DLC. You would think the one thing they would take care to do right would be a re-release of their first game. Apparently not though. It was just a tool for marketing their new game's release. All about the money over there at gearbox. A real shame.

Play this on a 4k hdtv, you will not be disappointed. The game, the add-ons; all been remastered to the highest quality. Let your OCD and hoarding run wild. I give it 5/5 in Graphics, Gameplay, Audio, Music, Difficulty modes and replay value.

This game is probably one of the best games ever made. Dont judge on price. You can find it cheaper at gamestop. Get it there for 14.99 new. This game is amazing.

This game is really good and it is awesome to own a physical copy of it.

TOP Game

Replaying the GOTY XBOX ONE enhanced edition was a great play. The video graphics are pretty nice. The audio did seem to be problematic on certain parts of the game, specifically the "Zombie Island of Dr. Ned" DLC had the audio cut out or have the volume get reduced, then come back.Other than that, well worth the purchase.
