Gets hot and smells bad, like it should!
This is a 60 watt soldering iron.For most electrical applications a 15 watt is enough. For delicate operations you would want 7 1/2 watts. A 30 watt iron is as much as most people would for soldering household use.60 watts is huge. It is usefull for soldering larger connectors that you need to heat quickly.I have read reviews from users that it gets hot and smells bad. It's supposed to get hot and smell bad!If you don't know what size soldering iron to get, you probably want one with lower wattage.

Decent product, hilarious instructions
It's almost worth buying this soldering iron just to get a good laugh at the instructions on the back! Something got messed up when translating chinese to english, it's hysterical. You would think they could get someone to proof read in ENGLISH!

Not adjustable on the handle.
Somewhere in the description it said that it was an adjustable iron. I interpreted it to mean that there was a selector of some kind on the handle or cord to change the wattage, there was not. It does work for what it was originally designed for though.

FAULTY, FIRE HAZARD! DONT BUY!
It gets way too hot! Dangerous! Worked twice on short uses. I don't think it has a thermostat build in.Fire hazard! DONT BUY! SMOKES AND GETS SCARY HOT! FAULTY, COULD CAUSE A FIRE! I should have read all the reviews. Cheap in this case is NOT SAFE!

For the price it can't be beat!
The first soldering iron i received malfunctioned the first time I used it. Seller immediately reached out to me to make things right. I received a prompt replacement. I used the new one and it worked perfectly. I have updated to 5 stars instead of 1 as a result. It is nice to have a seller that will work with you.

Difficult to hold and very hot.
The designers obviously did not consider ergonomic or common sense factors for this tool. It is not balanced from the handle end so beginners beware of the difficulty and potential danger in holding it and setting it down; it tends to rest on the heating element since it is so "top" heavy and will burn whatever is below the tip. I am designing a mod to rectify this as well as a temp control so it does not burn the devices I am trying to solder.

Great for the price. Amazing soldering iron. I used it for the first time on two projects and it worked perfectly.
