I was drawn to this collection as it is edited, selected, and features a poet that is an inspiration to me, and million of others.This book is perhaps the best book for a Social Worker or someone in the human service field in anyway to read. This collection depicts the kinship between justice and art . The voices and diversity within the work and causes these poets work, care and write for is grounding and a reminder of why we all must be shelter to each person we are lucky enough to know and the ones we don't know yet, and reminds us that there will be days we will need someone to be our shelter to humbly accept the help and embrace of humanity in its own storm.

The poems were great, learning about different organizations that are trying to make the world a better place was awesome as well!

This book is nothing short of amazing. I never realized how much I needed this in my life until I started reading it. With poems linked to organizations and the constant addressing of the most relevant issues in today's society, this is an anthology all it's own. For lovers of poetry, social issues, or just plain amazing writing, this is a book everyone needs on their bookshelves.

Classic Andrea Gibson

a good quality thick book, but every other page is giving a background on a poet before the poem that follows by that author. I didn't realize that this isn't actually andrea gibson's work, only edited by her. It is nice to get exposed to a wide range of different poets though all who have a similar style
