Research Methodology: A Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners

I haven't even read this book yet. I'm sure the content is great but the book formatting itself is awful. It's an odd shape which makes it difficult to read IMO. The colors and font are distracting. The worst part is the printing. The black words are faded, italics is blurry and colored areas blur into the white text. The pictures attached are not out of focus. They were taken under a bright reading light. This is required for my Michigan State masters program. I will be leaving a review of this book in their course as well. Please publish the 6th edition as a normal textbook.

I bought this for a Master's class and program where I will need to conduct an applied research project. The content is great. It's educational and helpful, especially for a student.It loses 2 stars for the design and readability. I'm seriously getting a headache while reading and wishing I had bought the 4th edition (although based on some pictures it might be just as bad). While I appreciate the designer opting to put glossary terms in a different color, and highlight important text, it is almost unreadable! Highlighter pink is on almost every page and the font size is possibly only size 9. Entire pages of charts in the same highlighter pink. The book is only 7 inches tall which is an odd shape for a textbook. I would think that if they had made it more to a standard size, they would not have had to make the font so tiny. I hope they publish a 6th edition that is actually readable for future students.

Writing seems good but the formatting is someone’s nightmare. Red type on red background. Blue type on blue background. 6pt light gray type in places. I was required to purchase the book but what a waste of money. I would opt for ANY straight black and white PDF version you can find over the printed book! I rarely throw out any book I ever purchase but This will be an exception. Hopefully after and not before I finish reading it.

The book seems to have all the information I need, and I'm excited about that. BUT ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO READ. The print is SOOO tiny, I'll have to buy a magnifying glass to read it, and I don't have poor vision. Frustrating, because I'd really like to read this book. It looks very interesting!

Unbelievable, for the cost of this book and it arrived broken. It is saying that I won’t get it before I start my PhD program. Unacceptable!

This book is not written logically. It is difficult to follow, and visually it is taxing on the eyes. I would not recommend this book.

Bad content, the book is not organized and hard to understand or follow its guidelines

I returned it due to the overall printing and paper quality. Some of the text was blurred and impossible to read. It looks like this book was a digital print on demand. I just bought another copy from my university store and the quality is *completely* different. Different paper, finishing, and colours. Not sure what happened here...

This book is great for anyone planning a research project whatever level - be it undergraduate or right up to doctoral level - it covers the basics and explains things very well. My only gripe is the format of this most recent edition - it's totally chaotic. The typeface, fonts, layouts and colours just gave me a headache - you've got blue writing on a blue page, or neon pink headings which are hard to read in anything but perfect lighting, and the size of the book is just odd and all just makes it harder to read and digest the information. I bought a second hand copy of the previous edition which is much more user-friendly and normal book-like.
