Lasko High Velocity Wall Mount Fan - Pivoting Head - 20" - 2265QM - Silver

I've had this fan for a couple months now and I'm very pleased with it. I didn't want to just get a cheap plastic fan (I've had plenty of those). So I spent a little more money and so far am happy I did. Hopefully this fan will last a few years, making it a solid investment. It is all metal, with metal blades. This fan does have the capacity to be mounted on the wall, but I have not done that so I can't review that aspect of the product. I just have my fan on the floor and that's good enough for me. I have a room in my home that was not getting cool enough this summer. The central A/C vent in that room blows out cool air, but it's just not enough to accommodate the size of the room. So I purchased this fan to see if it would help. I placed the fan on the opposite end of the room from where the A/C vent is, so that the fan is blowing toward the A/C vent. It works wonderfully. This is a powerful fan and has tremendous velocity at the lowest setting (it has low-med-high settings). I usually just run it on low and it keeps my room cool. There were a few days when it was hotter and more humid outside, and the room just wasn't getting cool enough for me, so I turned the fan up on high and that did the trick. Because this is a heavy-duty, high-velocity fan, I suppose it is a bit loud even on the lowest setting. But I'm one of those people who likes the sound of a fan so it's hard for me to comment on this aspect. It is noticeably louder if you increase the setting. I suppose some people might think that the high setting sounds a bit like a jet engine. But again, I'm just trying to be as objective as I can since the noise this fan produces doesn't bother me one bit, even on high. For me, the sound of this fan is very relaxing. In its defense, it is a very smooth sound. There is no annoying rattling or vibrating or anything like that - those type of noises DO bother me. This is just a nice, smooth fan sound that happens to be loud because it is pushing the air so forcefully. Some people might find this helpful if they want to block out outside noises, particularly if they work at night and have to try to sleep during the day. If you are one of those people, this is an excellent fan to serve your purpose. There are rubber feet on the bottom which help prevent vibration-type noise, and also helps keep the fan from sliding around - although it is so solid that it probably wouldn't slide anyway, except possibly on the highest setting. This fan is quite a bit heavier than a plastic fan, but I see that as a good thing. That's what I wanted - a solid, sturdy fan as opposed to a lightweight, flimsy plastic thing. You don't have to worry about accidentally tipping it over. I recommend this this product. It is MUCH more powerful than a cheap, plastic fan. Very solid, all-metal construction. High velocity pushes much more air and does a much better job of cooling a room.

While the fan itself is very noisy at max speed, it is very powerful. I have not had to use the AC during somewhat hot days, say up to 90 degrees, because it is so powerful. I love the white noise it emits. Very satisfied with it. I am a big Lasko customer. I had had the Wind Machine for years, but they ended up giving out after a few years. This is by far the best fan so far.

UPDATE!!! Its been 3 years and this thing is still going strong. Quality fan that delivers. UPDATE AGAIN: After 3 1/2 yrs of use I thought the motor was giving out as the blades were slowly turning, squeking noise, and sometimes would not turn at all. Guess what? The fan is still working great I just had to do a little cleaning maintenance, behind the blades where the motor housing is, in between the motor housing and the blades I found string and hair wrapped around the bolt. I removed all of that stuff with a tweezer but still found myself with the blades turning slowly. Finally I add some rust resistance spray in between the motor housing and the blade, the fan is working as good as new. WOW, WOW, and WOW! I read previous reviews that made me decide to get this one; oh man this fan is unbelievable. I accidentally flipped it to speed 3 when I went to turn it on for the first time my cat jumped half across the room and my papers started flying everywhere like I was in a windstorm; this fan literally sounds like a jet engine on speed 3 probably the reason why my cat jumped half across the room besides the powerful wind release. Yes its loud but it doesn't bother me as I can always wear my wireless headphones if I need to watch my movies plus the sound would probably put me right to sleep. I have had numerous fans before (over 10) but I have never come across a fan as powerful as this one. Even on the lowest speed it blows out more wind then any of my previous fans. Unlike the plastic models that break this design is metal and it is built to withstand the powerful wind in which it does not shake. Once again I cant believe a fan like this can put out so much wind. If you are looking for a fan that can disperse incredible wind and noise is not an issue for you then this fan is for you. Thanks to all the ones who reviewed this product before me as it really helped me decide to purchase this one. UPDATE: I purchased this in March it is now almost December, still blowing strong. Some days I wish it had 1 more lower level selection because it does give out a lot of wind even on the lowest selection . UPDATE: 2 YEAR AND 5 MONTHS of use and still going strong. Most days this fan has been on for an average of 16 hours. TIP: Make sure to clean this every once and a while. Make sure to unplug it, remove the cover and clean the fan blades, the back of the fan grill and front. Dust collects on this and by cleaning it, it will make a world of difference on the wind output.

I’ve had this fan for my garage gym for about a month now. The Texas heat was starting to get pretty rough, but this fan blows enough air to get the whole garage circulating. We haven’t had any reason to set it to high - low and medium have been plenty for our space (two car garage). I have it sitting on the floor, but I may mount it to the wall some day. I like the all metal design. It feels sturdy, but time will tell how long it lasts. It’s easy to move around and adjust up or down. It’s a good fan for a good price.

In Western Washington, most residential buildings, including my own, do not include air conditioning of any sort. So I needed a fan that could circulate air throughout an entire home. The Lasko 2265QM does that job well for the most part. Positioned properly, it can blow in cool air from shaded areas outside, and provide a pleasant breeze pretty much anywhere. When the temperature gets especially high, sitting in front of the fan provides instant and persistent relief. The three speed settings can be described as high, higher and hurricane. There simply isn't a lot of nuance. Even on the lowest setting, this fan can cycle all the air in a typical bedroom within a minute. Other reviews have commented on the volume of the fan. They are all correct, and you should heed their warnings. I initially shrugged them off, but after getting the fan, I really was surprised by how loud it could be. At full speed, the Lasko 2265QM will sound not unlike a small propeller driven aircraft at idle throttle. The lower settings do little to reduce the noise, and mostly just change the pitch of sound. The overall construction of the fan is decent. Attaching the stand and control box was trivial and didn't require much effort. The front grill can be removed, but there should be no reason to do this. The control box is the only thing that feels like it was cheaply made. But it's good enough that it shouldn't be an issue throughout the useful life of the fan. The motor is housed within a plastic shroud, although it appears that under the shroud is a metal casing for the motor itself. I noticed that the plastic motor shroud can get hot during sustained operation. Not to the point where I'm concerned it could catch fire. But hot enough for me to be weary of touching it when the fan has been on for awhile. If placed on an uneven surface, the force of the air being blown can cause the fan to topple. It would be nice if the stand had a bit more depth, but this is only problematic if the fan is placed on a soft or uneven surfaces. I get a lot of use out of this fan, but I prefer to only use for about an hour at a time, especially at night when I have the chance to circulate cool air into my room. Anything longer than an hour though, and I prefer to use a quieter fan. Pros: - Can quickly circulate the air in a room - Can provide modest ventilation for a home - Sturdy construction - Easy assembly - Works as advertised Cons: - It really is loud. - Cheap control box - Motor shroud can get hot - Stand my not work well on soft/uneven surfaces - Little difference between speed settings

I had bought one of these...3 years ago. More than even, and it lasted at full speed 24/7. It finally gave up a couple days ago, tried cleaning it, tried taking it apart, but I couldn't bring her back to life. But holy smokes (for lack of better terms), this thing is a beast. Definitely first choice especially in Arizona. Yeah it's kinda loud but that white noise to sleep too, it pushes air like crazy, it'll bring a room down 10 degrees

5 years later and after a cleaning is running as good as new! BEST FAN ON THE MARKET. I use this in my kitchen to bring cool air into the area and ventilate in the doorway to the deck. This thing moves air like nobody’s business and it’s fairly simple to take apart and clean up once in awhile. We have dogs and I need to clean fur from grilles every few months. Literally use this 10 months out of the year to bring fresh air into kitchen area. Makes a great floor fan. You will love how well it’s made!

All I can tell you is that I bought this fan 5 years ago this past May and put it in my basement to keep the air moving because I don’t have a dehumidifier. It’s been running for over 5 years straight (with the exception of 2 short power outages) and I’ve never turned it down or off. It’s still running strong after 61 straight months nonstop. It’s been an incredible value for the little money it cost. I wish every machine I’ve bought through the years was even half as reliable.

I was unable to purchase a fan locally during the 2021 heat wave - sold out EVERYWHERE. I am so grateful that this fan was available - it literally proved to be a life saver. I live in a bachelor suite, so the fan is quite large, but it cooled off my apartment effectively. It is a bit loud, but not unbearable. I used only the first setting, since the fan is so large and powerful. Setting 3 can be used to cool down a room for a short period of time; I used Setting 1 consistently to keep my apartment cool. The fan doesn't just "blow hot air around", so this fan is very beneficial. I highly recommend this fan - purchase early, since there are constant reports that heat domes, floods, etc will now be the norm for the World :(
