Lound and clear
Works great with my 1970's turntable then connected to the computer input. No Hum, and no distortions were heard.

Steer Clear If You Care About Sound Quality
This product has been around for a long time and has been sold under various brand names. I bought one of these when I was first getting back into vinyl because it was easily available and affordable. Problem is, it will make your records and your stereo system sound like mud. At the time, I did not realize how bad it was until I replaced it with another unit. The difference was immediately night and day and not at all subtle.Later on I learned that it had been measured by a respectable audio engineering magazine. They found that signal to noise ratio was just 33dB (A weighted) and the RIAA equalization was wildly inaccurate - off by as much as around 4-5dB at certain frequencies. This is audible, so beware of people with long gone hearing recommending this thing online.

I've heard these with another turntable and they are awful. They don't faithfully reproduce the entire frequency range from the original recording, cutting off deep bass is the biggest issue. You can spend less than 2x the price and get a quality phono preamp. The difference is quite startling. The Rolls for under 50 bucks is a very good alternative.

Works so far
I purchased this preamp from Sunday's Seconds via Amazon. It works fairly well so far with the exception of some interference at high volume while not playing a record. You'll never notice it even when playing a record at low volume though, ironically enough. This interference may or may not be from this unit. I will tell you what did bother me though. When I pulled the invoice out of the mailer, there was a bright orange tag stapled to it asking for a five star rating upon inspection of the unit. It further asked that you don't leave a negative remark and insisted you call the company for service instead should you find any problems. Sort of makes you wonder doesn't it? If they had the kind of confidence I would like to have (in a product) before I shipped something with my business name on it, to a paying customer, I would not need to enclose that bright orange tag.
