A wonderful book. So informative, even for a novice like me. So much good information, whether you're a seasoned gardener or a newbie to the hobby. Written in a flowing manner, easy to understand, lots of pictures and diagrams. The history of Gilbertie's Herb Gardens is fascinating, too. It prompted me to go visit the place in Westport, CT. A wonderful place to visit. Their herbs are beautiful and the staff are so friendly and helpful. If you are even a bit interested in starting an herb garden, this is a must book to add to your library! ~ Happily growing herbs on a tiny little plot in Upstate NY.

I have built an herb bed/raised next to my patio so that I can access fresh herbs for cooking easier and also enjoy the plants visually. I know some things but this book really helped me with the soil requirements for what I wanted to grow; different depending on your selections. Also helped with designing the planting. They offer many plans for folks like me making new gardens so if you like to get ideas for planting combinations, this book is for you. Liked the size for reading. Brought it with me to the nursery when I shopped for plants.

What a great book...... I have always wanted to grow the vibrant herbs that look like those on the cover of the gardening magazines. Gilbertie's book gave me all the clear, valuable, guidelines that I needed to guarantee my growing success. I have been trying for years to have a flourishing year round garden and have gathered bits and pieces of the success puzzle from multiple sources. This book was the first that have I found to contain all of the pieces of the success puzzle! Great Job! And what a great gift for all my friends and relatives.....

As a part of our produce business we grow herbs. we are always looking for any extra information to become better grows. This provided us with a couple of additional pieces of info that we are already incorporating.

This book is more about laying out a herb garden than it is about the individual herbs. It just didn't suit my purposes.
