... our old consumer-level laminator was not doing such a great job. I did a quick search and found ...
I was tasked to purchase a new laminator for work as our old consumer-level laminator was not doing such a great job. I did a quick search and found this one. Anything that is made out of metals and is not plastic like a toy is a plus in my book.I received it a few days later, and it was black and not white beige like the photo shows, and looks pretty slick. I then unpackaged it (very simple) and tested it out on the instruction sheet that it came with.. our 3mil laminating pouch worked excellent on "2", much better than our old one. The warm up time was acceptable, and the speed was quick. I like that it has a button to start/stop the roller.. I think that will keep the machine working for longer. The only negative for me is that you NEED TO KEEP THE BOX OR YOU VOID THE WARRANTY. Seriously? This machine has a 5 year warranty, but I need to keep your cardboard box for five years? Not sure how strict the manufacturer is with this, but that is kind of lame considering I now need to keep track of a cardboard box for five years, at work none-the-less.Anyways, I haven't used this for a large job yet, but I will update this at a later date.

Love my new Laminator!
I’m a pre-K teacher & love my new laminator! It’s built like a tank& I believe it will last a very long time! (Except for the plastic knob on the temperature control, that has already fallen off, It doesn’t prevent me from setting the temperature on high, but I will contacting the company for a replacement. I knocked a star off of my review for this reason) I had an inexpensive one that needed to be replaced & decided that I wanted to get one that would last, as well as work with a variety of sizes & thicknesses of sheets. This one can can accommodate up to 12 x 18 inch, 10ml thick sheets beautifully (with the temperature setting all the way up)! They seal nicely, with a clear glossy finish! You do need to use a carrier with this laminator, which was included with the 10ml Wrapsure pouches that I bought to go with it!

If you want top of the line quality at an affordable price, this is it!
In my line of work, I do a fair amount of laminating from time to time. Why did I choose this? It is the laminator that both OfficeMax and Fedex Office use. I questioned some of the staff as to the durability of this unit. They all agree that is a work horse! A point to consider: You may at first balk at the $350 price tag. But, consider this, there are dozens of ~$150 or so laminators on the market. As is always the case, you get what you pay for in features, quality and durability. Turn it on, and it is ready for business in about 5 minutes.

So far so good, the laminator works like a dream
So far so good, the laminator works like a dream. JUST REMEMBER TO USE THE POUCH! :) It's fast and easy and we're very happy with it. We needed a more "industrial" machine after our GBC H420 Laminator suddenly died. :(Definitely recommended; and the seller shipped quickly, and there were no issues with packaging or anything like that. Again, definitely recommended.

Lowest Setting is still too high!
After having a disastrous experience with a lesser model that only had a slot screw control for temperature control I decided to give this higher end one that had a actual knob for adjusting the temperature setting and a built in thermometer to check the temperature a try. I wound up getting similar bad result and I believe this is because the lowest setting, slightly beneath "1", is still too high at 250 degrees F for 5 mil pouches: 2 out of three form bubbles in them no matter what type of carrier I use and is way too high for 3 mil with looks pock marked with bubbles after use in a carrier. That temp is only good for 7 and 10 mil pouches. I know the manufacturer monitors these reviews so i will await their response so I may see if there is a way to lower the temperature of this unit more. If I do not hear from them in 48 hours I am permanently returning this unit and never dealing with TLC again as this was a major waste of my time: I have up to 2500 laminations to do of various sizes. This is a shame as I see professionals using this unit at conventions but they only use 10 mil pouches up to 8.5x11 inches.

Worked for only 100 laminations
Laminated 100 sheets in June (Perfectly, might I add)...and put it away in a cabinet for 3 months. When I took it out just now, the unit no longer produces any heat at all, and the "overheat" light stays on immediately. I could smell that "hot" smell for about a few seconds after I plugged it in, then nothing. It looks, feels, and works like a high quality product - perhaps I just got a lemon?

Excellent laminator
I needed something to laminate 10 mil thick on 11 X 17 pages. I would guess that that's about as tough a job as this size laminator will ever see. this one works flawlessly. I did alot of research on these, and found out that several national copy centers near me (no FREE advertising !! Ha Ha) Use this same brand and model... That tells me that it will hold up for a long time.I wore out a competitor with my project afte about 30 passes of the sheets listed above. I'm on about 40-50 sheets through on this one and it still works like brand new. If you're wanting a well built product that will last, then this is the one.
