Approximately how long does a jar last?

It depends on how you apply it. Instead of deepening the finger in the paste just slide your finger like if it is butter and put it in the palm of your hand little by little until you consider it's enough for your hair I hope I made sense lol

Should i assume the clay and the paste do not smell the same? paste=lemon + coconut??? how about the clay?

As others have noted, the clay doesn't have any identifiable smell, but it does smell good. The clay smells nothing like the paste, which is probably the best smelling hair product that I have ever used.

What are the hair lengths that this product works best with?

I have short hair with about three inch length on top .. Works great on me.

Since Freeze tends to lock your hair in place, it's best to do your styling first then apply Freeze.
