Perfect blends of spices
Just the perfect flavoring. I read reviews first, and some said way too hot while others said perfect. And it was. I will use this spice on other veggies and poultry. Thank you

Comforting Indian spices, but contains salt
I wanted some pre-mixed Indian spices for when I'm in a hurry and don't have time to grind them. I saw this kitchari spice mix and decided to try it. WHAT I LIKE: -- the mix has good flavor -- not as bright as fresh ground, but still good! -- I liked that it included asafoetida and fenugreek, two spices I don't normally have in my kitchen -- it has a slight kick due to the brown mustard, and that's perfect -- you can make kitchari with it of course, but, as with any Indian spice mix, you can put it on literally any savory food and it will elevate the flavor! WHAT I DON'T LIKE: -- I should have bought a smaller jar. These spices are volatile and don't stay fresh for long (but that's true of any ground spice) -- I wish there were no SALT in this mix. There is 580mg per 1.5 teaspoon, and that's a LOT of salt. I had to cut back on the amount I added just based on this. This is my reason for rating it only four stars. Please, Pride of India, get rid of the salt!

Wonderful Indian seasoning
My ayurvedic practitioner wants me using kitchari on my food. I had trouble finding a blend without peppers. Then, I found this. It is delicious and aromatic. So happy with my purchase.

Wonderful Kitchari seasoning mix
Love this mix. All Kitchari spices powdered. Great for cooking, especially if you have some digestive issues.

This is hot spicy,
Disappointed that didn't notice cinnamon in the ingredients, totally dominates. Not the kitchari I have enjoyed in the past.

Flavourful but…
It’s got flavour but I think they are using wheat to make the asafoetida pourable and maybe msg. I don’t think additives or the full list of ingredients is legally required in India….I no longer use it.

Need to use a lot to get some flavour. Also a lot of clumps in the jar. OK if you are in a hurry

I made kitchari using this and couldn't eat more than a few forkfuls. It had a very unpleasant aftertaste, similar to woodsmoke, as if the kitchari was burnt (which it was not). To make matters worse, the aftertaste was not really preceded by much in the way of spice taste - the aftertaste was all I got. I had made four portions, intending to eat one and freeze the rest, but I ended up throwing the whole lot in the bin.
