PenPower WorldPenScan BT - Wireless portable pen scanner and translator

Despite a couple of low ratings I purchased this scanner with the hopes it would work with my Acer Iconia A200 tablet running Android 4.0.3. It worked right out of the box with no hiccups. I downloaded the software from Google Play on my tablet as directed, opened it, turned on Bluetooth within the program and then the pen. It paired immediately. The instructions were right in the app and everything was clear. I read the paper instructions first just to familiarize myself with the operating and setup features.The pen does just what I want it to do. I line up the arrow on the tip with the line of print and sweep carefully, line after line. It is true that you must position the pen with a little space before and after each line, but it blends the paragraph together with no inappropriate spacing. The more I scanned the better I did. The only problems I encountered were when my book page had a slight curve to it, so it's important to make it as flat as possible. The words appear in real time within the app, and are editable. I can save the passage to a number of apps such as Evernote, Dropbox, Gmail, and my journal app, or copy it to the clipboard and place it anywhere, such as in my notebook app.I bought this for its convenience, so I could use it with minimal baggage and not need my laptop. It is awesome. Thank you for such a wonderful product!

I work with numbers,usually in cells and tables; I need to get them from paper to the computer. Obviously, transferring the numbers by reading them off the paper and typing them on the keyboard is tedious and prone to errors. Scanning them in only results in a useless image: I need to use the numbers as raw numbers. Naturally, I thought the pen scanner was a good idea and did my research using reviews. The first PenPowerWorldPenSCan BT was tethered to a USB line; the packaging made it look like a pre-used generic product. This was not easy to use at all. I meant to order the wireless version in the first place, anyway.So, I returned it for the Wireless version.The Wireless version was too quirky. There was no rhyme or reason as to when the scanning light would come on. When it did come on, it would often quit in the middle of a line. When it scanned, words /sentence were 70% accurate or so. Numbers were less than 5 % accurate. Numbers in cells and tables did not come out right--often did not come out as numbers. However, I was really surprised when it got some numbers in columns correct, and actually used commas to separate them, indicating some native intelligence (this added one star on the reviews). This only happened once, so not enough to redeem the product.I had no use for other functions like language translations, so I did not try them.Conclusion: scanning and recognizing numbers, especially structured numbers in tables and columns, is not possible with this device.

Amazing recognition of the text in my law school books. Allows me to scan the line of text pretty fast and the pen inserts the text into my notes in microsoft word. My only complaint is that the pen is made out of cheap plastic. For a $125 scanning pen i would expect it to be aluminum or something similar. I wouldn't trust it just floating around in my backpack like I do with my calculator and other supplies because of the plastic. But the functionality of the pen itself is amazing. Better than expected.

It does not consistently work. Had to reinstall every time I wanted to use it.

i bought worldpenscan bt and the white light on scan tip stop operate (shine, in this case) 5 minutes after a successful try-out on my android device (samsung galaxy note 8). the pen was charged for 8 hours to AC socket via its USB cable+adaptor before try-out and was charged again after the problem found but the white light still not operate. without white light shining, the pen can not scan document and now i can not using my device. i tried to contact technical support on [...] but they keep supply me with the wrong check code so i can not submit my question on their website. until the problem solved, it is one star for this product from my end.

It is so good. I am satisfied with this pen scanner.I want to use Korean language.It is good to use the language.

this works fine with my Samsung S3. It works fine only with USB connection with my Asus Model K45DR laptop, but not thru wireless bluetooth mode with my laptop. Their tech support tried to assist me after I contacted them but problem remains. I will try with an external BT adapter and see the result.

This pen was a gift from my boyfriend and I absolutely love it! It makes note taking so much faster, it took a very short time to learn the best way to scan documents and to set the blue tooth up. The picture scanning isn't so great but this makes myLife so much easier.

Io da studente universitario disgrafico la uso parecchio sia per tradurre che per riassumere i testi e funziona benissimo in particolare se la carta è molto bianca e il contrasto delle lettere risulta più netto.Funziona perfettamente sia con Windows 7 che con un tablet Android e con i mec funziona ancora meglio. ovviamente non è impeccabile ogni tanto sbaglia ma sicuramente ti dimezza il lavoro cosa non da poco. Unica pecca a mio parere è la plastica esterna della penna di bassa qualità e dall'aspetto un po' fragile. Spedizione sempre perfetta di amazon

Feeble product that stopped working after two scans. It is made of very low spec plastic and not at all reliable.Try other options
