KnitPro Zing Interchangeable Circular Needles 4" (10cm) | 4.00mm

This was a great addition to my collection. I love these knitting needles they feel good quality and they glide with all wools. They have a big selection of sizes which is great so I can continue to add to my collection. They are easy to change when needed. love the functionality of these needles. highly recommend

My favourite needle for most wool as it allows the knitting to glide along, no snagging at joint.

I prefer the Knot pro zing interchangeable needles for large projects because;1. The metal is completely smooth, including where it joins the cable, meaning stitches glide easily, something really important if you are knitting lots of stitches.It's one of the things I don't like about the addi cables ( that they have a big jump/ pump where the connector meets the cable which gets the yarn & stitches stuck)Although wooden knitting needles, including the knit pro symphonie ones start out smooth, over time they start catching the yarn as the varnish wears, something that doesn't happen with these 100 percent metal needles.2. The size is printed in the largest font in a way that lasts. I do like some of the interchangeable addi needles, but their numbers disappear within a couple of uses and that's super annoying months later when searching for a certain size.In addition, each needle in the knitpro zing range has a different colour for each size, which is handy if you have low vision.3. You get options. In this case I chose short & standard tip.Short needles are useful when knitting things that turn corners, like sleeves, wrists, socks, hats etc.You can also select the tip, I went for standard tip, which is a normal blunt tip, that is ample pointy for dk and up, and doesn't risk splitting the yarn. However, if I was using lace weight, fine 4 ply or a yarn with a halo like the merino silk yarns that are popular & sold as do but where the knit table part is more like reply or lace, then I would select the lace tip which is thinner, pointier and the slope is longer which is ideal for catching those thinner trickier yarns.So you not only get to pick needle size ( in this case 7mm) but also the length, and the tip are options too.You will need an interchangeable cable to go with these interchangeable needles.This is where I don't recommend the knitpro zing, because the cables for knitpro zing are terrible, stiff, and fight you constantly.Luckily the knitpro Mindful cables fit these needles and are much better, softer, less of a struggle.You can use some of the addi cables, also soft and less of a fight, but check first as not all will fit.You will also need a cable pin, just the one, to tighten the needles onto the cable. It's a tiny adjustment that makes a huge difference and stops the dreaded unscrewing which you only notice once your yarn is trapped.Usually the cable pins come with the cables, which can be bought separately.If you aren't sure which size you will need, go longer,as you can always use the magic loop technique to enable shorter projects to be knitted, and you can't magically make the cable longer if you needed it.The cables aren't as expensive as the needles, so I have 3, which cover me from socks to blankets, but I could make everything from the largest blanket sized cable.Hopefully something in my waffle is useful for anyone new to interchangeable needles and why there are so many different types.

Why did you choose this product over others?:Needed this particular size for a project - bought a complete set of these needles when I began knitting, but occasionally need a differently sized set. Circular needles are great to knit with, and I use them like ordinary needles, ie not for knitting in the round. Really good quality.

These are quality, lightweight needles, and I like that each size is a different colour. I bought these as a replacement for Symphonie ones that have gotten dented and snaggy over time.What I really dislike, and this is across the whole KnitPro range of needles, is that they print the size on the needle and this rubs off easily. I'm fairly sure they could engrave the needles and do a good enough job that it wouldn't leave rough edges.That's where the colours come into play with the Zing range, because at least I can record the colours on Ravelry and look up what I want when the print eventually rubs off. And I can match some to my crochet hooks, because the size is moulded into those.I also feel that they have missed a trick by not putting a keyhole into the needles - it would be much easier to tighten these especially since they're small if there were two keys turning against each other than having the needles sliding around.Overall, they're a nice addition to my set - can't understand why they aren't included in the first place - and will last a lot longer than the Symphonie ones did.

A wonderful accessory to add to my Knitpro interchangable circular needle set

I got introduced to these a few years back and i love them. I have a few sets now but when i bought my reascent ones they were a bit shorter than the previous ones that i had bought so take care when ordering them.

I love the entire range of Knit Pro interchangeable needles, I have all the standard lengths in their Symfonie range and am building my collections of shorts in Zing. I find they secure well, so long as you use the key for the extra tightness and I’ve not yet had any issues with them coming un-done. I love that the zing range has a different colour for each size as it makes life so much easier when trying to identify sizes.I regularly recommend interchangeable needles when speaking to people about knitting and always, Knit Pro.

Se siete dei principianti come me vi consiglio tutti gli articoli di questa marca.In particolare, questi ferri sono in metallo, rispetto a quelli in legno sono più facili da usare perché la lana scivola meglio, se vi servono degli aghi per il vostro primissimo lavoro circolare, utilizzate questi, farete meno fatica a prenderci la mano.

Although the picture shows the package for 5"/13cm needles, these are the smaller needles (4"/10cm). Unfortunate :(Apart from that, delivery etc all perfectly in order.
