Q: Does this have to be hooked up to speakers? or do you hear the music just from the device?

Hey there,yes to hear your records you either have to hook it up to speakers or plug in some headphones. It doesn't sound that great. I bought it because I thought it would be hilarious to walk around with.

Q: Does this work with a Mac?

Don't know as I don't have a Mac. See no reason why not.

Q: Can you mount it on the wall? It came up as a vertical player.

I would not purchase this product. The software is outdated and no longer supported. I would not attempt to mount it to a wall. Gravity, man.

Q: will it play 12 inch LPs?

The 12" diameter is not a problem. The speed would be the main consideration. The two speeds handled by the Crosley CR6020a are 33 1/3 and 45 rpm. Most of the 33 1/3 LP platters I have seen are in the neighborhood of 12" in diameter and they work very well.
