Metra 44-UA60 Antenna Amplifier for AM/FM Bands with Bypass

This does work if installed correctly-I can now get a few more AM stations. I did not observe as good a response in the FM band. Overall, I think the RF tuner block in my head unit has some issues. If your only problem is weak signal, this thing works. BTW, if you install this in a Chrysler/Dodge vehicle you might need some adapter cables.

I was a little skeptical about buying this item because of the negative reviews but I'm glad I did buy it. It works perfectly for me and now I can pull in my favorite channel that is about 30 miles away. The station was fading in and out before and now comes in steady and clear. Those who are having trouble should check that they have installed the device properly and check that their antenna system is in proper working order.

Before installing in dashboard, I tested by pulling radio from dash and connecting this in series from the antenna to the radio.Connected the 12V with a jumper. Tuned in a poor reception FM station that I was hoping to improve.Amplifier Amp was powered, the red LED was on when I pushed the button.Absolutely no difference in station reception whether 44-UA60 indicator LED was on or off.Unfortunately, I bought it several months ago and can't return it.Recommend you do this simple test BEFORE you cut up your dashboard to install this useless junk!

Product does not perform as advertised. Sure when you hook it up, with power off(bypass mode) radio stations barely come in.....push the power button and VOILA!!!!.......stations now come in much better. The dirty little secret is the radio stations come in BETTER without this device than with this device. You will get fewer stations with this device hooked up and power off(bypass mode) than you will without it hooked up at all. When in "bypass mode" the device really "chokes down" the radio signal. Don't buy it waste of money!!I wish some company would make a device like this that worked.

This product did not work, the only thing that it amplified was static. Total waste of effort.
