Each speaker has a red + and black - input. The TV has 2 "audio out" jacks, one red and one white.** A: You have to have a small amplifier to go between the TV and the speakers. I like the line of "Lepai" small amps like the 2020. Under $20 I believe. **Q: What is the Rms of the speakers? It only tells me the Peak is 200. But that doesn't always mean that the rms power is 100** A: Probably closer to 20 watts RMS. I'm using a Lepai mini amp with 10 watts each channel and can't get these to audibly distort at unity, and amp at full blast. I'm willing to bet they will catch fire if you try to test the peak at 200. They aren't very pleasant sounding, so I can't imagine why anyone would want to get 100 watts of sound out of these anyway. The only proper place for these are rear speakers on a home theater system, you don't want to use these as mains. **Q: How do I pick the right amp for these? I want to use them with an hdtv.** A: I really don't recommend these speakers unless you're planning on only watching the news on your HDTV. They sound so horrible, they won't be sufficient for your movie watching experience. Even speech sound less intelligible through these speakers.That said, if you are stuck with these, buy yourself the Lepai LP-2020A+. Look out for ripoffs, there are lots of clones, and I've bought most of them. The brand Lvpin seems to be at least the same circuitry, and sounds exactly to the original, though the build is a bit lower in quality. Make sure the unit comes with it's own power supply.The LP-2020A+ delivers around 10 watts per channel before noticeable distortion on an 8 ohm load and is really one of the nicest sounding personal amplifiers you can buy for a bookshelf system. BTW the PCB4 claims to peak at 200 watts, but this is a complete false statement. It will probably catch fire if you attempt to put 200 watts through it. In a home theater situation 10 watts will probably be just right for a desirable movie experience, and half that for jamming to music at your computer desk. If you need more sound to fill a bigger area, you're going to need bigger speakers and corresponding amp, or perhaps add a subwoofer to fill the low frequencies in.So say a system with the Pyle speakers and Lepai amp would fill a smaller living room, about 12' x 12'. Highly recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really tremendous value for the price, nice form factor and function! *by A***O on October 11, 2012* I've got an internet radio in my kitchen with some internal speakers that just weren't cutting it. As it also has a set of external speaker outputs I started looking for something. Now, this is just for background music in the kitchen, the occasional podcast, news, or weather. I wanted decent sound, but I didn't need or want to invest substantially in something with real high fidelity. I also didn't want to take up counter space or have to deal with a bunch of wires strung everywhere. I saw these speakers and the price point was nice and the reviews were positive enough for me to give them a shot, and boy I'm glad I did. In conjunction with some universal wall mounting brackets, these are tucked discretely away in opposite corners of one side of the kitchen. The only modification I made was to drill a small hole in the back of the case of each so I could slip a bolt through to attach to the universal wall mounts. While I had the cases open, I replaced the paltry paper batting with some polyfil, not sure if that does anything, but it made sense to me at the time. The wires are discretely hidden in some metal wire molding. All in all, these are great little speakers for the price. They're tiny in stature, but for my kitchen background music application, they're ideal. Having spent some time with them, I think they'd make fine rear channel speakers in anyone's surround sound or other application where absolute audiophile levels of fidelity or really "big" sound isn't required. Of course, given the small size, bass response is minimal, but that should come as no surprise. The cones are definitely paper/cardboard, but for the application, and price point, I think that's completely justified.
