Texan is a signature built-in electric grill by Kenyon. Approved by UL for conveniently using indoors and outdoors, this grill lets you enjoy the fun of grilling your favorite food in the comfort of your home. Made of high-quality marine-grade stainless steel, this electric power grill comes with a lifetime rust-proof guarantee and is a great addition to any cooking arsenal. You can use this grill in areas where gas and charcoal grills are not suitable options. Two 1500W elements in direct contact with the cooking surface lets you get a 550-degree F temperature in just 7 minutes. A waterproof touch control panel controls the heat precisely and thoroughly. The built-in safety shut off timer will turn the grill off after 60 or 90 minutes, depending on the heat setting. This timer is reset with any adjustment to the temperature so it will only turn off if the grill is left inactive. Our built-in outdoor and indoor grill includes two independently controlled zones and a split lid design. This exclusively functional feature allows for various types of grilling at the same time. Cleaning is also easy. The grates of this electric outdoor grill have a non-stick coating to provide quick wipe down in between uses. This grill is also dishwasher safe. The griddle surfaces are non-stick and dishwasher safe. It does not get as hot as a gas grill, but since I mostly grill vegetables and fish, it is plenty hot enough. The surface is large enough to gook for six, but might not be enough for a big party. I did need to buy a cover to keep the grill and control panel out of the sun, since I live in AZ where it is very hot. I have been using it for a few months, and no issues so far. Let's see how it is in a year or two. Be aware that you will have to run a 220 line to wherever the grill is installed, which is an additional expense. Update after a year or two of use: It is still going strong and I still love it. One thing to be aware of. If it gets too hot, the electronics shut down and you can’t turn the grill on until they cool. In Arizona in the summer this is an issue. I solved it by using a grill cover that covers the control panel. It works on all but the hottest days, and who wants to grill then anyway? I am building an arbor over the grill that will help keep the whole area cooler.

Hopefully this will be the grill that won't rust. I talked to Kenyon before I ordered it. They promised me a lifetime warranty when it came to corrosion. If it would ever corrode they would send me a new one. One is enough. So please don't corrode. We didn't have 240 volts on the patio from the beginning. We called an electrician to rewire it. It took him half a day and a a couple of hundred dollars. Worth every penny. Update. 2020 Several years later the grill looks almost brand new. No corrosion what so ever. I bought a table for the grill from a different brand. The table has corroded but not the grill. I can definitely recommend the grill.

**Q: What size cabinet do I need for this grill**
A: You should get at least 30” cabinet. The cut out for the grill is off center, because of the control panel. It is a great grill.

**Q: What is the voltage on it?**
A: it's 110. We plugged it into our existing outlet. Works like a charm. 2 things I wish i had done from the beginning....order the permanent drip pans and a griddle (check out the sale/refurbished section of Kenyon's website). We purchased them after the fact and love them. Great grill!

**Q: I want to buy the reuseable drip pans and need to know how many drip trays are required 1or 2?**
A: Two are needed, one for each side of the grill. Four aluminum trays come with the grill itself and can be used quite a few times before they need to be replaced.

**Q: How much space is needed in the rear to accommodate lids in open position**
A: From the back flange of the grill to our back wall we have 4 inches. The grill top just opens and stays open on its own. A little more room, another inch or two, would be nice but 4 inches will work. Less than that, I can't say for certain if the top will remain open on its own.

The griddle surfaces are non-stick and dishwasher safe. It does not get as hot as a gas grill, but since I mostly grill vegetables and fish, it is plenty hot enough. The surface is large enough to gook for six, but might not be enough for a big party. This grille has a lot to live up to. It mostly does. It was the only one that I could find that’s UL listed, had a warranty, didn’t require venting, and was essentially smokeless. Well it’s not exactly smokeless , and while there’s less clean up it’s not without the need to clean. Depending on what you are cooking, how you marinade and prep, this will effect how much smoke and clean up you have.
