Best for the price
After some research, I purchased the Targus over Keyspan because it had a better reliability record. In addition, the other options such as interlink were too pricey. I also wanted a device that can be used as a mouse and not just go forward and back on the powerpoint slide. Overall, Targus delivers as a presentation device that allows you complete freedom. However, it won't replace your mouse since its movements are not smooth. I got frustrated quickly and returned to using my wired mouse. The problem with the ppt slides forwarding multiple times IS TRUE. I noticed this when the pointer is set in the "presentation mode" (i.e. the right and left mouse click maps to pg-up and pg-dn keys). In this mode, if you hold down the button just a tad longer, it "repeats" the pg-dn key and you scream through 4-5 slides. To fix this problem, you can either 1) change back to the "mousing mode" where one click will forward one slide or "perhaps" change your keyboard repeat response time in your control panel? I haven't tried the later, but the "mouse mode" works great for my presentations. In this mode, the mouse doesn't click until you let go so you are guaranteed one slide movement. However, the problem arises when you want to go to the previous slide. You'll have to either switch to the "presentation mode" and click pg-up OR you can do the right mouse click and select "previous" from the menu. Anyway, these are two remedies to the problems that people are seeing.Lastly, the laser point is bright enough, the feel in the hand feels professional. It's not too heavy and it doesn't feel cheap. It comes with a nice carrying case and looks professional.

Don't do it!
I got this presenter for using with Power Point presentations. It was easy to set up but that does you NO GOOD if you can't rely on it to work. It broke within a few uses. I returned the item to Targus and they replaced it with a defective unit - which would only move slides backwards. When I tried to resolve the issue with them and get a working replacement, they suggested that it was user error. I will not buy a targus product again. The middle of a presentation is not when I want to discover that a presenter is unreliable!

I never write reviews
This is a wonderful product that does exactly what you need it to do. I usually don't write reviews, but after seeing some of the negative feedback, I wanted to make sure to voice my opinion. It moves effortlessly through a powerpoint, the laser pointer is a nice touch, and although I don't use the mouse much, it does function properly. True, it is slow, but it works. If you complain about any part of it, you're probably being a little picky. For the price, you can't beat the quality of this product.

Targus pointer with remote mouse
This is a decent little gadget. I use mine to control the computer I have hooked up to my TV for watching Netflix and Hulu. I also have the Targus AMP02US which is a little better. The PAUM30U has a similar thumb joystick-type control (the unit I received looks different from the one pictured). The response is a little slower compared to the AMP02US, but once it gets going it is just a shade faster. The thumb control can also be depressed to act as a mouse right click, which is something the AMP02US doesn't do. I don't use the laser pointer (the AMP02US has a mouse only mode which conserved battery life this one doesn't have) is activated by a undermounted trigger which might be nice if I used the pointer(the AMP02US has a mouse only mode which conserved battery life this one doesn't have). It has some function buttons (for PowerPoint I guess) that I don't use, so not sure how useful/effective those are.Range seems to be about 15 feet about the same as the AMP02US. Construction seems solid. I would recommend stepping up to the AMP02US if you can, especially if you're a Netflix fiend, but this will work fine.
