International Concepts 1S-818 18-Inch Scooped Seat Stool, Unfinished

I've had these stools for one year now and they're still in great condition! I have kids so obviously they will get dirty, but they clean pretty well. I will say that the wood color did change a little bit due to the usage so I recommend sealing them for more durability. Overall, they're great stools and are exactly what I wanted for my island. I bought one more to complete my island!

I am not one to take the time to leave reviews. So I only leave one when I feel strongly about my purchase. This is such a great quality stool and it is such a great height. It is unpainted but I loved the look of it so decided not to paint it at this time. Maybe I will paint it when I'm needing a change. This stool comes already assembled which is a big plus. I like it so much I will be ordering another!

These are great priced, strong, sturdy, solid wood, unfinished. You can paint them, you can stain them. I just left mine plain, because I like the light-colored natural wood it has. But it's important to put a cover on the stool to protect the top from spills and food stains, because it can absorb the stain since it's unfinished. But you can use them for tables, holding your plants, etc.... I've got six of them I put around my rectangle kitchen table. They're lightweight, but sturdy and strong. I think they're about 14 inches across, so a child cannot tip it over easily, cuz it's got a wide seat space and good strong legs. I did put pads on the bottom of each leg of the stools to protect our floors., even though the bottoms of each leg are very smooth and sanded.

I liked the first one enough that I bought a second one for another room about a year later. I've been using the first one for about two years and it shows no sign of getting wobbly. They're well constructed. The stools were easy to finish. I had to do some sanding. Some parts needed more work that others but nothing I wouldn't expect in unfinished furniture. Don't know what kind of wood these are made of but I saturated them with several applications of Danish oil and they look great. Great design and proportions--the seat is a comfortable size. It is scooped but only slightly. It isn't obvious unless you look at it carefully but it is scooped enough to make me happy. The legs have screws at each of the joints but it's done in a way that the screws are hidden.

Extremely well made . Very sturdy. However for my purpose it was too heavy to move around. I did return it . I do recommend it for someone who needs a strong stool. Simple good design.

I'm short and disabled and working on my flower beds wasn't happening because I couldn't a solid stool the right height, until now. It's perfect: short (18" ), sturdy and easy to move. I've already cleaned up 2 beds and can now look forward to working in the yard again!! 🌺🌼🌼🌞💕

I got this stool to use as a desk chair at my craft desk. I tend to sit on the fronts of seats anyway instead of sitting against the back, and a stool takes up so little room, it's the perfect fit. I can push it completely under the desk when I want it out of the way. It's only 18" which is perfect for my short self, and it also doubles as a "step stool" for the top shelves of craft supplies! Also, the seat is about 14" diameter, which is bigger than some others I've seen (thay were only 12"). It's very sturdy. And since it's unfinished I plan to stain it to match the rest the desk, but it came sanded smooth enough to go ahead and use until I get time to actually stain it. I currently use it on carpet, but if you plan on using it on a hard floor, you will want to put something on the legs to protect the floor--and you'll probably have to sand the bottom of the legs a bit to make them flat.

Product doesn’t conform exactly to the description and picture. Seat is not scooped very much and there are reinforcing brackets and screws on the lower surfaces. When I removed the plastic wrap on the seat, I discovered two deep gouges in the wood surface of the seat. Clearly defective and was returned. The replacement was not flawless, but good enough to keep. Ordered a second one and found more flaws. Not sure what species of wood this is; it doesn’t take stain evenly.
