MOVE Portable Battery Base for Google Home Mini

Can't comment on sound quality or battery as this is for 1st generation not second. The easiest way to tell them apart is 1st Gen has a C-type power connection and 2nd Gen has a DC style power connection, this has the C-type making it incompatible with 2nd Gen.Unfortunately this company nor Amazon do not make the 2nd Gen version although if you Google for it there is another 2nd Gen available.That said, the quality of this product was impressive, just a shame I had to return as incompatible with my Nest Mini.

Turned it on & it worked. Super simple. Let’s me utilise a spare Google Mini Gen 1 (micro usb) as an extra speaker in my garden.

Very easy to setup. Perfect for extending the WiFi music in the garden around the BBQ. Design is perfect and matches the Google speaker perfectly. Similar 4 white dots for the battery indicator level. Really happy with my purchase!

Pros:nice design to exactly match the GH mini.Power remaining indicator on the front also mimics the GHM's volume lights. This only lights while charging or if you depress the small button on the backButton on the back to turn the power on and off (good it on for 2 seconds)Secure fixing ring (this might be a con if you plan on removing the GHM - but why would you do that?)You can use the GHM while charging the battery, *and* charge you phone from the USB outlet. Pretty good by the bedside.Not as heavy as I feared. Feels nice in the hand. The design makes one think this is how the GHM should have been all along (but see below)Cons:No access to the mute switch on the GHM due to the size of the cutout in the back of the unit. Rather unfortunate, but I never use that sliding mute switch so no problem for me.There are other similar products which don't state the mAh rating of the battery. 10000mAh seems am honest amount of energy for a 1 watt device. Not sure how long that equates to in standby but they quote upto 12 hours, so you really need to consider this as a docked device that you can temporarily take with you.

Battery does last only one day if keep it on all the time.I am switching it on only when needed then battery last longer.Design is quite good and I cannot find any difference on sound quality.

Brilliant idea, just what I was looking for. Makes your current Google Home Mini portable, so enables it to be taken outside and used in the garden, no wires needed.

The battery life is twelve hours but this is not usage it’s also standby. I wanted to use it in the bathroom while I shower, probably 15 minutes max each day which would have meant charging it maybe once a month which I thought acceptable. However, unless it’s physically turned off it continues to drain, so it doesn’t even last a day. Complete waste of money

Great product that makes your old generation mini work anywhere but you can't leave it on even if not using it as the battery runs down so have to remember to turn it on and off when you want to use it. Not ideal for the bathroom where I have used it as need to wait for it to boot up
