Purple๐๐๐๐๐
OMG!! Iโve had this iron in yellow for about four years . It still works awesome, but purple is my favorite color and nothing is ever made in purple - ๐น. So I immediately bought this !! When I first started using this style iron , it was a learning curve to set it down rather than stand it up as I had for decades ! But once I got into the rhythm and habit , it is just an awesome feature. Donโt get me wrong there have been times that Iโve been faster than the irons feet, gotten irritated, but thatโs just me - I thinks microwave 30 seconds is too long ! The best feature about this model though, to me, is that it doesnโt shut off for safety in 8-10 minutes like so many out there. It stays on fit 30 minutes. Then it really only goes into hibernation cuz itโs back and hot in under a minute with just a touch to it. I keep it plugged into an extension cord that has on and off button - so thatโs how I turn my iron on and off for the session and never worry I left it in hibernation mode ! Canโt imagine going back to a stand up iron ever.

I'm impressed.
I bought the Oliso Smart Iron because I was very disappointed with the leakiness of other irons when they were used in the "steam" setting. The Oliso Smart Iron is the only steam iron I've found that is literally "no-leak." This impressed me enough, but it has several other exceptional features. Its water supply lasts much longer than others. I think this is because the iTouch feature allows it to remain face down even when you set it down. In my experience, each time a regular iron is placed on its heel, it gives off a plume of steam that wastes its water supply; the iTouch feature neatly circumvents this problem. Its 1800 watts of energy really cuts down on the number of passes I need to make over a wrinkled area, which saves my own energy when I have lots of ironing to do. All the setting buttons are in one easy-to-see spot, very nice. The cord is long, so it can be clipped up or clipped aside, away from the ironing surface. One minor point: the Oliso Smart Iron is just a bit heavier than less expensive models; in my hands, however, its superior wattage and its iTouch feature more than compensate for that. Overall, I'm impressed with the simplicity of this iron's design as well as its superior function.

Oliso Iron is the Best, you get what you pay for!
This is my second Oliso Smart Iron, I needed a second iron at my sewing table to press my quilt pieces as they are stitched together. I actually looked at two irons when making my decision to get the second iron for my sewing/quilting room, the other was a Rowena. For my needs especially for quilting the Oliso won hands down. I hope to never use another iron for my sewing area, it also presses clothing very very nicely. You get steam when you need it the iTouch feature is a great time saver. The automatic cut off feature makes my needs worry free when on a deadline to complete something, I do not have to worry about if I turned it off or not. I do make sure both irons are off and unplugged before I retire for the evening, just my personal thing, although I will admit I have left it on and plugged up a couple of times but never worried because it was cold as a cucumber when I went back to it. Great product, thank you Oliso you make my life easier.

I LOVE THIS THING!!!
I love this thing! I've recently started sewing, and this iron is such a help. I hate ironing in general, but for sewing it's even more tedious because you're back and forth to the ironing station for pressing seams and hems. This iron allows me to leave the iron on, use it when I need to and leave it to return to sew without worry. Then, when I need to return to the iron, a mere touch of the handle and it starts warming up immediately. It heats up quickly, it's stable on it's retractable stand and it's easy to fill with water for steam. It has a great auto shut off and indicator light so I know what it's status is even from across the room. It didn't take me long to get used to leaving the iron in the face-down position, rather than standing it up as we're all so familiar with. You'll wonder how you ever managed without it.

Grinding Out The Problem
Reading previous reviews, it appears several others are having the same problem as my wife. She is quilter and loves the iron's steam features and the auto lift. The problem is the Oliso TG100 - 1800 Watt Smart Iron lasted less than 10 months of use and the auto lift quit working. It will work at times for a few lifts, but then the gears in the motor make a loud grinding noise and locks up. I took the iron apart to identify the problem. The small sealed gear box is attached to a rotating shaft which raises and lowers the feet. I suspect they use nylon or plastic gears to drive the shaft which operates the feet. If excess pressure is applied to the feet to start the retraction or possibly dropping the iron a little too hard will round off the gears until they start skipping and making the grinding sound. COMMENT UPDATE: As stated previously, my wife liked the iron and felt the excellent features were worth another chance. A new iron was ordered, but the automatic feet did not work properly right out of the box. The first time it was powered up, the auto lift was making an excessive noise. After a week of use, the noise became a grinding vibration and the auto lift did not always works when touched. The iron had to be jiggled to get it to activate. Sending it back for refund today.

This is the best iron I've ever had
This is the best iron I've ever had. It's on the pricey side (although not as expensive as some I've had), but worth every penny. It's not too heavy, but heavy enough to be effective. It lifts up when you remove your hand, so you never burn anything. This is so great for sewers and quilters, because if you're ironing seams or lots of small pieces, you don't have to keep lifting up the iron while you rearrange your pieces. It shuts off automatically if I walk away and get side-tracked. It has an extra-long cord, which is really great. I almost always use the steam option, because . . . when would you not. It's also pretty.

Not sure I'd buy another one
I bought this iron in hopes that it would help alleviate pain in my wrist from the twisting motion of using a regular iron when doing a lot of piecing. It has done that. However, I'm beginning to wonder how long the iron will last. After 11 months of use the button for steam has become unpredictable. Most of the time it sticks in the down position then slowly comes back up when it feels like it. Occasionally it works normally. I've liked using this iron but am beginning to wonder if I would replace it with another Oliso if (when?) it fails. Awful lot of money for something that's having difficulty at such a young age. My last iron was a Singer which served me well for years. Guess there are times when top of the line isn't necessarily the way to go. UPDATE 12/22/18. I contacted Customer Service at Oliso late in the evening and had a response early morning the next day advising they would replace the iron. Later that day I received another email providing a mailing label and telling me what I needed to enclose with the iron. I shipped the iron back on 12/11; they received it on the 18th; and today my new iron came. The customer service has been great and I'm hoping this iron will have a longer life than the first one. UPDATE: 9/19/20. The replacement iron is still going strong. Glad I stuck with it. When this one evenutally dies, I will most likely go for the one that stays on for 30 minutes.

What's not to like!
This iron is so much fun to use. I'm normally very frugal on my spending, but when the husband says buy it I do...lol My other iron was bought over 20 yrs ago from a drug/department store so I was really in need of a new one. I saw a quilting tutorial that had the higher priced iron in it and loved how with just a slight touch the iron would lower itself and then raise itself back up after letting go of the handle. This iron can be left laying down and when it raises up there's no fear of it scorching the ironing board. I had to get used to not putting it back up in the upright position. It evenly heats, the steam is always there (unlike my old iron) and an auto shut off is a must since I tend to forget to do it. Amazon had an amazing price on it, plus the free shipping was well worth it.

awesome iron
I purchased a TG1100 3 years ago - it is a dream to iron, I love not having to lift it to put it on its heal as with standard irons. Its not heavy like most irons. In the past I have had to replace "standard Iron" every 18 months. This amazing iron is still going strong after 3 years!! I purchased another Oliso iron just in case the one I have stopped working (I iron most things) I don't know what I would do with out one.!!

Oliso Iron
This product is phenomenal, it never burns clothing and takes wrinkles out much more efficiently than other irons. It comes in fun color and extra long cord which is helpful if you're not near a plug in. I love this product, its the second one I have bought!

Love the Auto Lift
This is my 2nd Oliso iron and I love it. My first was received from my mother so not sure of its age but it was well over 7 years and was replaced only because it stopped heating up when activated. The auto lift is a wonderful feature and the fact that you should use regular tap water is a plus. A little heavier than other irons Iโve had but the quality more than makes up for that.

Button sticks
The spray button sticks and it does not spray water like it is supposed to. I purchased this in Feb. and the support time has past by September. Like the iron but the quality is not good for what it cost. The iron leaks also. Oliso was going to replace it. But this been ongoing since September and I am still waiting.
