I live in Central Florida, where it rains HARD, every day during the summer months. I have these in the backyard, near my pool. Their sound quality (alone) lacks decent bass, but in conjunction with two other speakers that I have under the patio cover, the overall sound is very nice. (my other speakers put out alot of bass) They have performed perfectly, even in a harsh down pour, for nearly a year now, and look even better after "ageing" in the harsh sunlight. They are NOT bluetooth capable, so you will have to run wire to each speaker.(I ran pvc conduit and pulled wire to each location) On a side note, when I first purchased these, one had a "flaw" and didn't work properly, but the seller was very quick in sending a replacement. Good customer support! NOW, if you want to use these, and want bluetooth capability, just make sure the "receiver" amp you are using has a bluetooth receiver built in, and then you can use a tablet, or smartphone to play music over your yard. The value for money on these is amazing. They are durable and sound great, I have been for more than 10 years, had to replace two at about the five year mark...After our monsoons in California this year I actually drained some water out of one and it works fine... I have a wired set up connected to Sonos with a 4 speaker setup around my pool. Solid sound and durable.

Typical outdoor fake granite speaker with typical outdoor sound quality. At least it does not have a little secondary grill to pretend there is a tweeter behind it for better high frequency sound quality, as others do. They are a bit darker in color to the two they replaced, but same flying wire underside connection. One of the originals they replaced was 'rubbing' and sounded bad. I opened it up to try to repair it, but could not get the driver out and threw it away. While opened I did confirm the tweeter grill actually had nothing behind it!! So these sound OK. Nothing exceptional, but good enough for backyard tunes..

I'm a snotty audiophile weirdo who's used to expensive Revel floor standing speakers in my listening room, so while these may not be that, these speakers sit on my back patio taking a beating from sun, rain, and snow, and always sound lovely and never the least bit objectionable with regard to frequency holes or exaggerations within their design spec. These replaced a pair just like them that I bought 18 years ago, badged differently but were the same, until a driver in one of them finally lost its composure and started flatulating. How can anyone not love speakers that sound great while being kicked in the teeth by weather for nearly two decades? Here's to 18 more years!

My first impression after hooking up to my amplifier, was that is was severly lacking in bass response. That was despite the bass setting being at max. I will note that if I hooked the speaker up to the subwoofer output of my amplifier, it wasn't half bad--but of course was only the low end. Anyways, it did occur to me that the frequency cutoff in my amp might be the issue--but after trying 3 different amplifier setups, and comparing to some old Bose 151 speakers that I've had forever, they are clearly lacking in both the low end AND the high end. The Bose 151's have something like a 4" "woofer" and a tweeter and sound much better. Also, if you look at the speaker through the grill in the sun, it's quite clear that THIS IS NOT A 2-WAY SPEAKER. The speaker has what I recall as a "whizzer" cone in the center, which is not the same as a true tweeter. And the description said clearly it has a "ferro fluid cooled soft dome tweeters for clear sharp sound," which is does not. Upshot: very disappointed in these--would love to return, but I have already recycled the packaging, so not sure what to do with these moving forward. I care about how things sound, so I see no way that I will find a use for these--maybe as a subwoofer for my 151's? Actually, that's not the worst idea! I'll have to try it out..

I’ve had the 4” version of the same brand for 8-9 years in the harsh Palm Springs sun. (They still work) I decided to update my sound in the back yard. 8” add a nice amount of bass to the music. It’s not like DJ quality bass but it’s enough that I can drown out my neighbors vrbo who is getting annoying with their loud music. Mine is now louder and also annoying I’m sure.

My first set lasted for over 8 years when one $%&) @ night I had them a little to loud and blew one of the subs. Took the old ones out to the trailer and was please when I found out that they still sell the same speakers. The sound quality is suburb for what they are. With enough base and treble to satisfy even the pickiest of them.

I have now returned these speakers as their sound quality was very disappointing. May well be okay in very small outside space or on a decking area, but no bass means you get no real depth to the sound. Also, the speaker connection cable is unnecessarily short meaning any connection to your speaker cable is likely to end up on the ground and always potentially in contact with moisture. What would it cost to add an extra 12” (30cm) to the cable to allow the join to be off if the ground? All that said, if the larger speaker sizes were available via Amazon, I would consider trying these as I think the bass response on a 6”+ speaker would be much better.

For what you pay, these are fantastic! I found they lacked a bit on the low end for an 8" driver (testing them in my basement) but a little EQ low end boost helped with this. Once outside, I was really pleased with them. They certainly go real loud and look like a rock.
