Great Saw !!!!!
This is a very handy multi-use tool. For all of you who are griping about the blade, get used to it and know that when you buy cutting tools, the included blade is almost always a compromise for the average user. This is a great blade for rough cutting cement board and other cementitious sheet materials. In general, you should always include the purchase of good specialized blades with your tool order. I purchased very high quality diamond blades for this saw and we are cutting everything from tile and concrete to light framing steel with it. My guys love this tool. It does what it says and does it well. I wish they made a 7-1/4" version. I'd buy one in a minute.

Ridgid Fiber Cement
Not a bad saw, the fan actually works pretty well cutting down on the dust quite a bit. Can be a little cumbersome with the hose and what not but you learn to deal with it. Two drawback's are no depth adjustment for the blade and no rip guide therefore 4 stars.

The saw worked great til it quit working
Made 25 cuts and the saw locked up .sent it back for a refund as the rigid company no longer makes these saws. The saw worked great til it quit working.

Great tool if a blade was made for it that would last.
This saw has plenty of power, and excellent dust collection. The one glaring weakness is the blade. The only blade made for this saw is a 6 tooth carbide blade by freud. This blade works great when sharp and new. After a few cuts, especially in Hardie trim the carbide gets dull or overheats and breaks off the blade. I usually have to buy 2 to 3 blades for each job. I have gone back to a 7 1/4" diamond blade for most cuts. The diamond blade lasts forever but you have to wear a resperator because of the massive dust put out. I am going to get some shears for the next job. If a blade maker would make a diamond blade for this saw it would be 5 stars.

adaptors to go to shop vac
the only reason i gave a 4 vs 5 was it would have been the perfect tool if it allowed for attaching to shop vacs. This is truly a minor thing.

No longer works
I purchased this saw from Home Depot and proceeded to install the siding on a 4,000 square foot two story home with fiber cement lap siding, shingles and trim. I opted for a diamond blade which lasts a lot longer than the carbide blades they try to sell you. The saw worked great with the attached blower vacuum that collects the majority of the dust and carries it to a filtered top that you clamp onto a 5 gallon bucket. My problem occurred halfway through the install when the saw started sparking and loosing power. It looks like it needs new brushes, but I didn't have time to chase down parts. That, and the fact that the cover over the armature uses a reverse-thread screw, which wouldn't come off. I'd search for a saw that has better protection for the electrical motor.
