Even using thread locker doesn’t fix the design issue of having teeny screws with very fine threads screwed into soft aluminum.UPDATE 2:The other two holes stripped as well. Terrible product.UPDATE 1:Two of the four screw holes were stripped out due to the soft aluminum used in the base and the small screw size and thread pitch of the screws.There are only four screws which keep the mounting surface (the actual part that your tripod head attaches/screws to which has the bubble level glued into it) attached to the swivel base part of this leveler, the part which attaches to your tripod.I'm not talking about the three angled screws which tighten your tripod head to the mounting surface.I'm taking about the four screws which keep your tripod head attached to the base part which attaches to your tripod. Pretty important to have quality parts keeping your gear firmly attached to the tripod.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT unless you want to risk having your gear fall due to the shoddy materials and manufacturing.===ORIGINAL:It seems to be a nice unit but one of the screw holes holding the base together is stripped out. Not the hex screws which tighten you tripod head to the leveler. But one of the screw holes holding the level base to the part you attach you tripod head to. I'm not a huge fan of the set-screws. I wish that they went in vertically instead of at an angle, I'm not sure how that would mechanically be achieved, but I would feel better about that. I also wish that they were. I also wish they were flat head, instead of Philips, because the rest of my tripods use flathead set-screws. To me a leveling base should be around $50 or less since my tripod is around $200 and I didnt want to pay for a leveling base for nearly my used tripod head (manfrotto 501).I saw this product and took a chance to try it and I was happy with the product. Fitting well, easy to install and quality is good (all metal), do the job well and lastly the cheapest I can find.
