When I was bulletproof coffee drinker this was one of the best beans I'd found (tied only with Blue Bottle's Giant Steps blend, my other favorite).I started drinking coffee black two months ago, which led me on a spree of trying out expensive/higher end coffees for fun. Can't speak to the experience of this Wicked Joe's Sumatra in black form, but I'd expect it to be great. The aroma while grinding is really phenomenal, and the taste is everything I look for in a coffee. The fact that it has a lower/mid-range price makes it even more impressive, as well as the organic certification.

I won't show up as a verified purchaser because it was ordered on my wife's amazon account. I only had a few days left of my regular morning fuel and the bulk stuff I like isn't available from our curbside pickup (dang COVID-19).I went searching the internet for a good coffee that wasn't too expensive, could be had in two days, and was reasonably well-reviewed. I ended up with this.I make my coffee with an Aeropress and paper filters. One scoop and water to the top. I also add about 30% low fat frothed milk and a teaspoon of sugar.The grind could be a lot finer for my application, this is pretty much a standard drip coffee grind and I typically use a turkish grind (powder). That said, I didn't feel the resulting brew was too weak. The flavor is excellent with very low acidity and no acrid "burnt bean" flavor. If you are used to quality coffee and like the earthiness of Sumatra you'll likely appreciate this coffee. I sure do. I may try grinding it a little finer in my wife's ninja bender to make it a wee bit stronger, but overall this is a fantastic brew for a reasonable price. I will continue to buy this until I can get back to my normal bulk aisle, and possibly even after that.

When the price of Starbucks Sumatra shot up, I wasn’t thrilled at the prospect of coffee hunting. I loved their Sumatra and drank it for years. But Wicked Joe is a hit! I absolutely love this coffee and I am so glad I tried it. Will be ordering again and again. Not a trace of acidity, and bold, wonderful flavor at a price that can’t be beat!
