Oster TSSTTRWF4S-4 slice toaster
I was ready to love this toaster. Well now I don't know what to say. I plugged it in and put 2 slices of bread in on the left side, set the desired setting number and pushed down the toaster lever and out came 2 very nicely toasted pieces. Now my husband was going eat his Eggos and he put 4 Eggos into the toaster and the Right side toaster lever would not stay down, so no toasted Eggos on the right side. I told him to go in the basement and get the old toaster which also has the same problem with it and plug it back in and he could then toast 4 Eggos. I have asked for a replacement hoping that it was just one defective toaster. Will update when I get the next one.Pros: Very sharp looking and stylish. Left side did give me beautiful toast on the #4 setting using rye bread. Toasting time was quite quick on the #4 setting.Cons: Right side toasting lever did not work. Crumb trays are in the back of the toaster, front is more convenient I feel.5/6/2013Here is my update. I received my replacement toaster with in 3-4 days. I love it. It toasts the bread beautifully. I am glad I gave it a second chance so long as it continues to work. It toasts the bread quite quickly also. Love it,

Oster vs Breville 4 slice toaster
Ok, I wanted a Breville BTA840XL die cast 4 slice toaster but for nearly 5x the cost of this Oster I decided I might need to do without. The Oster has over a thousand reviews and a 4 star ranking, with so many purchases and happy customers it ranks a solid purchase option. So, I gave in and bought it and it does toast Very well. On a setting of 4 to 5 toast comes out really nice, about 2:30 to 2:45 minutes. The wires glow a little red and it produces toast that is how it should be and relatively fast. The sides are hot-ish, but not scorching, they did well on the unit. The Breville I read about took a little too long to toast and the wires did not glow red. The toast levels on the Breville are digital so there are fewer steps than with an analog dial type like on this Oster for finer tuning your toast doneness. The Oster has no cool LED lights or elevator to lower or raise the toast; these would be SUPER cool! but...also just one more thing to break down over time. The Oster has a retractable cord that is nice to keep it out of the way when not in use and there are no lips or edges to catch crumbs on the face of the toaster. Well done Oster. If I was buying a wedding gift and wanted something special for a really special person then a Breville would be a great gift idea, heck you could even engrave it for them. But for me, and with so many other toys to buy, I am very happy I bought the Oster. I like to toast my bread for my burgers, fried onions, peppers and bacon. Yummy and crunchy! So, when I get married (again?) maybe someone can buy me (or the future us) the Breville for a present. Thanks your the best! :-)

Great Toaster
We have had this toaster for more than a month. We love it. It looks great and is very reasonably priced. Daughter in law has a similar Cuisinart toaster. It looks like it was made in same factory. The plastic base and knobs look the same. The top radiuses are on the front and back on the Oster and on the sides of the Cuisinart. I like the look of the Oster better. If you use four slots it seems like all four toasts come out lighter. That seems reasonable! It's a toaster it can't change the laws of physics!I have a few concerns listed below but they are minor and I won't deduct a star for them.1.The manual is horrible , but hey it's a toaster!2.The retractable cord broke the second time I used it. There is a mark on cord to keep you from extending the cord too far but the manual doesn't tell you anything about it. It doesn't matter to us because at the full extension the cord is stuck at works just fine for us.3. Like the Cuisinart toaster the sheet metal top is attached to plastic base buy twisted sheet metal instead of screws. This makes it risky to servicing the toaster if one of the sheet metal tabs would break. I was going to service the retracting mechanism but the twisted tabs dissuaded me. Since the cord length was just the right length anyway it all worked out.To sum it up the toaster is priced right on Amazon, looks great, works great. Just be careful to look for the cord over extension mark the first time you extend the cord.

Tasty toast!
I really like this toaster, although I will admit that I replaced at T-Fal 15 year old toaster that was bought at Sharper Image, no joke. Anyhow, this is fast as far as toasting, and the light to dark options are very accurate. I have used the frozen setting for waffles, and it work fantastically. The slots seem a little short for the Oroweat bread I use, but they fit in there. The only things I have a problem with are the lift up mechanism does not lift the toast very far. The regular bread I use barely goes up any higher than in does without the lift up. The second thing is the retractable cord. A nice feature, but it is on the side of the toaster. I think it would make more sense if it was in the back of the toaster. I have to run the cord around the side which makes it push out from the wall for a few days but the cord ends up bending enough in a few days. I really like being able to do four slices at once when making breakfast for two kids and myself. Sometimes the internal mechanisms can feel a little cheap, just from hearing it and pushing down the lever, but it toasts great, so I'm not going to complain too much unless I have to.

Works like a charm
This is exactly what we've been looking for -- a toaster with a retractable cord, and a setting for putting frozen bread/bagels in. They toast perfectly, even from frozen. Easy to clean and it seems not to attract fingerprints like other appliances. Highly recommend it.

Nice toaster Love the Color
Works very well toasts great easy to clean. The price was a little high compared to whats available . I wanted that color so I paid the higher price. I also bought the extra warranty for piece of mind. It only cost 5.00 . So far very happy and find it to be worth the money. Wally K

Colourful, great looking, great toasting.
I never did get along with the "long slot" trend, seemed wasteful when I only had 2 slices to toast. This product was a perfect fit for our kitchen, and it has all the standard, popular toasting features, even a keep warm option!I really like the retractable power cord, as it cleans up the clutter on the counter. So far, this toaster has pleased us with its operations, so we give it 2 thumbs up.
