SAF5370BL - Safco Scoot Mobile File

I needed a file cabinet I could roll up to my computer desk when needed and then rolled away when not in use. This was the perfect solution. I am a guitar instructor and I create music handouts for my students. I print 10 at a time and file them in this unit, then take them out as needed. The cover makes a great work surface for the three hole punch I use, and then store on the bottom shelf. It has a more "modern" design than most office furniture, and I like the looks of it.It is very sturdy and rolls easily. The wheels lock if needed. The top is quite heavy so use care when placing it in the open position. It was a bit of work to assemble but you only do it once and it is very solid. I don't use the side pockets but it is a nice extra for those who want it. I have used this unit almost daily for two years now and for my purposes it has worked great.

I was concerned about other reviews finding bent parts. I found one slightly bent corner that a pair of plyers quickly fixed. The unit is very sturdy and good quality wheels and laminated surfaces. I was able to do the assembly myself until it came to the lid and then the small nuts made it a bit difficult so my wife helped hold it in place for me to use both hands.Bottom line - I like the design but you may find little problems. Safeco could do better QC on their imports.

Was delivered ahead of schedule, and it works just like it's supposed to.

Let me say first of all that we love the file cart design and functionality (5 stars). But there were several areas of damage to the pieces in the box. My wife and I were able to assemble the cart after using pliers to bend metal pieces that arrived damaged (see photos). The surface coating on the metal inner shelf was also chipped in one corner. And there was a flaw (hole) in one of the frame panels (which affects the overall appearance of the cart). Overall, it wasn't worth returning but we strongly recommend that Safco improve their quality control process and that Amazon reinforce with their shipping staff that care needs to be taken to prevent damage during shipping.
