Only been two days so this is just my beginning experience. I will update later. I received the incubator within two days of ordering so I was excited. It was packaged very well, including the candler. It was already set to 38 Celsius so my husband only had to hit the set button. The water chamber for humidity is absolutely scary so I filled it just a little and put a shot glass into one of the extra slots (I won't use the whole 7 egg slots because it's too cramped) and will have to purchase a hydrometer tomorrow. I have no idea what to do on lockdown as there are no available videos on this item and the included instructions are horrible. So far the temperature has been right on the money. No lingering up and down. I have another thermometer poking thru the air vent. I will continue this review as i go along but as far as shipping and set up it's pretty good. I may have to purchase a different once as it get closer to lockdown since I have no idea how the chicks can keep from getting hurt in this one.1st update - Day 16: All 3 eggs have made it to day 16. Eggs are dark and moving. One egg had a crack so i dropped wax on the crack (that chick is moving like crazy). I tilt the eggs 3 times per day left then straight then right. When lockdown starts I will remove the egg cradle and place eggs on chicken wire flooring I made. Will do another update then or maybe before.2nd update - Two chicks hatched. I removed the shot glass and completely filled the water moat in the bottom. I bought a cheap hydrometer from the pet store and 2 eggs hatched on time very easy (didn't have to assist). The egg with the wax on the crack was the first to hatch. The chick from my favorite chicken has not hatched a day later but there is movement. The screws inside the unit are rusted so if I can't change them I'll see if it can still be used. I'm thinking about dropping this down to a three due to the fact I had to take the chicks out because the dome would not let them stand up with other eggs in it. Oh yeah, keep a dish towel draped over it.3rd update - Well the chick I was desperately wanting died while I was sleeping. It did hatch and I have no idea what happened. The whole time the temp. was right on the money and when I woke up the air was blowing cold and the chick was stone cold. I definitely won't use this thing again but it did give me two good chicks so I'll give it a three star. There really is no place for these chicks to move.

NICE!!!Hi we ordered this incubator thinking it was crappy! Turns out It's handy and it works.We set it to 38.0 Celsius and let it stay at temperature for about a week.The temp was stayingcorrect (It does move up and down just a bit not even a degree) I order 6 fertile Silkieegg off eBay and they have bin in the incubator for about a week now.They are very much alivewith veins everywhere in the eggs so it WORKS GREAT!!!!!

Lets just keep this simple and do a quick pros and cons list:Pros:-Price-Size (It's similar in diameter to a lunch plate)-Low noise level-Nice temperature display and controlCons:-Size - the eggs have to be in it UPRIGHT which means you can't really turn them. Anything larger than a medium egg would be hard pressed to fit in here at all.-No automatic turner-No way of measuring humidity-Impossibly small and difficult to access water reservoir. Fully loaded, you're looking at adding water once or twice a day to keep it moist.-large temperature fluctuations. You'll be taking the lid off a lot (turning, adding water) and every time you do, the temperature will drop quite a bit. It fluctuates on its own if you just walk past the thing.-No good for lockdown. Once the eggs get close to hatching, you'll need to move them to a second incubator for safety.**EDIT**I had to change this review to 1 star because with 8 days left to my hatch, the incubator has randomly died. I woke up this morning to ice cold eggs. Complete waste of money.

I have a lot of experience with incubators. I ordered this to give to a young friend to use. I decided to try it out to make sure she would not be disappointed in the results. The seven standard chicken eggs barely fit in the unit. The temperature was uneven. On day 10 it stopped heating entirely. Unfortunately I didn't discover this until I went to turn the eggs and found the unit running but the eggs stone cold. A waste of your money. Save up and buy a more expensive unit.
