Only tie out we use
As a rescue who does a lot of outreach, we needed a strong, durable, thick tie out that didn’t get tangled easily, didn’t break easily, was easy to use while holding up to strong dogs. While these are on the higher end of the spectrum for the outs, the heavy weight and ease of use makes it work the money spent on them. Of the tie outs we tried these are the hardest to break, hold up the best, resist tangles and the clasps are the hardest to break we’ve found. The value is worth the cost. We will continue to use these and recommend them to owners with strong dogs.

Highly Recommend
I have bought many, many of these and I will continue to do so. I have a 50 pound English Setter and he loves to be outside every single minute of the day and he does get put on this leash each and every day. Each one has lasted quite a bit and he gets into a bunch of weird situations, stripping away the protective coating but the coating does last quite a bit. I usually replace this cable every 9ish months but with daily usage it does last a very long time for that. Highly recommend for the pet owner who needs to have a lead on a dog, much like myself, especially for a dog who loves to be outside. Just be sure to be aware of where the cable is at, I've been uprooted by my puppy running the opposite direction seeing something that interests him, my own fault but be aware it can trip you up!

Great dog cable, LOUSY clips!
This ultra-heavy-duty dog cable is rated to contain dogs up to 250 pounds, and I believe it. While my two Great Danes are only 150 pounds and not prone to yanking on their tie-out line, I did not like the user reviews on the next cable down (rated at 125 pounds) and wanted a cable rated to at least their weight. The cable is lighter than I guessed from the picture and should be no problem for any 100+ pound dog to carry around. The casing is smooth and slippery and so far has refused to catch and tangle where the prior, aging cable did. The cable swagings and fittings are impressively heavy-duty and I have no concerns about the end used to anchor the cable to a porch post. However, the massive clips are one of the worst-designed pieces of hardware I've ever seen. They latch inwards and have to be pulled outwards to open. You cannot simply swipe-click them onto a collar ring; you have to hold the latch open manually and clip it on. This proved impossible to do with one hand, although I suppose strong and agile enough fingers, some practice, and a completely patient dog would allow it. Two hands are also needed to unlatch and remove the clip. The clip is extremely heavy, more than six ounces, and I think even a very large dog would get tired of it pulling at their collar. Worst of all, though, by twisting a collar ring just right, it can catch on the base of the latch and cause it to pull open. I have no trouble seeing an active or "tricky" dog learning that enough rolling around will set them free. Really, these clips are so bad for this purpose in every respect I can't imagine why the manufacturer is using them. There is a solution, though. I used a hacksaw to cut through the pivot pin on one clip, and replaced it with a lighter-duty but much more easily managed and secure clip. Your hardware store should have a selection of clips of any size suitable for your dog and preferences, and with this replacement, this cable, at Amazon prices, is an excellent and trustworthy solution for big dogs.

Great leads
These leads are amazing. Great length, very strong and durable. They hold my two pitbulls with nonproblem and I dont have to worry about the breaking the lead trying to chase a squirrel....... or leaf.

We keep having to buy new ones.
I have a lab mix of 70-75 pounds of 13 yr old muscle that likes to pull when seeing deer, etc. We live on a lot of property and he is a chaser. Non the less everyone of these we have bought has busted at the clip or the pin goes out, won’t stay closed or the end totally comes out of the cable where it attaches. Last 2 bought was March 2022 and they are both (were) on the sinker metal rods in the yard The top part stays on the covered porches x2 when he isn’t on it and both rusted already. One snapped off again last night. 5 hours of hunting down the dog again. Not happy. They should last longer then this. I may ask for a refund this time or start looking for another product. They have been eating upMoney $80-$120 each time to buy3 total .
