Works VERY well, but follow placement recommendations
These Beetle Bagger traps work extremely well at attracting and catching Japanese beetles. But because they are attracting them you NEED to place them at least 30 feet away from the plants you're protecting, including those of your neighbors.Our cherry trees used to get covered in Japanese beetles and half the leaves were skeletonized. Since I started putting up the beetle bags (following placement instructions) I rarely find more than 8 beetles on our two trees all season.

Worth every penny!
Worsk great! I simply wait until the bag is almost to the narrow portion of the bag, use a zip tie to close that opening, then detach the bag from the trap and dispose. Sturdy, and economical.

Perhaps a bad batch
The bags tear along the two seams at the openings during installation, couple torn out of the box. Although not ideal, they are performing their basic function.

The traps work!
Not only do they work great, but they're translucent, so you can see how full they are from a distance (better than realizing they're full because you can smell the dead, rotting smell). These Bonide trap bags are slightly smaller than the opaque Safer brand, which is disappointing because I have both kinds of traps and need replacements for all. Both brands include 2 bags with the original trap, and each bag was full (and stinky dead beetles REPEL more beetles) within 3 weeks, but it took 12 days to get more from Bonide. The lures for both brands work great.

Lure holder missing
Missing items. No lure holder as stated. This is the second time ordering this product, & both times the lure holder is missing. . The box only has a few green bags. No lure as stated. Never buy it again.

The bags could get costly depending upon how many beetles it attracts.

My garden has been absolutely PLAGUED with Japanese beetles. (NC) This brand of beetle trap seems to help the most. One thing I didn't realize is that you must replace the bags once they start to fill up because the beetles won't be attracted to it anymore. These bags are a necessity and this is the most bang for your buck.
