Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter with 100m Range

I purchased this unit for my neighbour so she could monitor her "sunny boy" solar panel inverter. I had already tested my own on her inverter and it worked perfectly.Her new unit did not work, however, the problem being that "sunny boy" inverters will only connect to bluetooth drivers written by a handful of suppliers ie broadcom, microsoft or toshiba - but not Belkin!The solution is either not to install the driver on the cd accompanying the unit or to deinstall if you have already done so and then let the unit find a driver (hopefully microsoft) on the web.Then it will work perfectly like all Belkin products appear to do

I had a problem with my previous device when migrating to Windows 7 Home premium 32 bit. Bought this one hoping that nothing on the market these days would have issues with Windows 7. And this device quite plainly just does not work, unless you spend lots of time and find out why.First of all, do not install the software which comes with it. Win 7 has a validated driver which can load automatically via driver update. Second, go toBroadCom who makes the support software and download version for Windows 7:[...]After you have run the installer, it still does not work but Belkin has this solution (enable it for autostart in "serivces"):[...]After restart you should see your bluetooth (when you click on the symbol) opening the bluetooth devices windows software part, it should be able to see your device there, in my case it was a Nokia phone (which has its own quirks) - I had to connect it by cable first to allow it to load up its drivers, restart both PC and Phone and only then ...So in brief, do not buy it unless you know how to get into the guts of your windows.Otherwise, all looks nice...

Came well within the specified delivery time well packaged.Very small, compact and unobtrusive. I found it easy to install, i just plugged it in and Windows did the rest. My OS is Windows 7.I had read the reviews on this before I purchased it and found some very good advice on what to do if any problems were encountered. If this advice hadn't been there I wouldn't in all probability have bought it, because a lot of people did have problems installing it, as it happened I didn't.  Belkin Bluetooth USB plus EDR Adapter, 100m range, v2.1 I like the fact that you can turn it on or off with just a click of the mouse when it's not being used.I would recommend it.

This tiny little adapter works really well in my Windows 7 laptop. It installed automatically and was ready to use within minutes. All standard Bluetooth functions are available and it paired with various phones without any problems. Transfer rates are good, photos transfer almost instantly although larger video files obviously take longer. I especially like that unlike my previous Belkin adapter larger file sizes are supported. The largest file I've transfered was over 200MB, which obviously did take a good few minutes, but was suuccessful. As for range, well I've not pushed it to the max, but can start a transfer while next to the laptop and then move into another room.Well worth the price and rather cute too.

Bought this hoping that, being Belkin, it would be better than another cheap dongle I bought on Amazon. It was worse. At least the former one connected to my Creative speakers (albeit with limited range), this one wouldn't, and the software wouldn't install correctly either. Very poor Belkin. What is it with (lack of) Bluetooth dongles for 64 bit Windows 7? Product description states OK for Vista, and as Windows is usually retro compatible, one would assume Windows 7 would be OK too. Wrong. The product description should clearly state the this dongle just doesn't work with 64 bit Windows 7.

Have been using with windows 7 32-bit for about a year now without any problems but after building a new PC i moved to windows 7 64-bit and this dongle will work ok just download the driver from Belkin site and plug the dongle in and click to install software which will just sit there not doing anything so click exit and windows will pop-up a window saying install with right settings click yes and the driver and software will start to install, do a restart and your doneJust setup a Windows 8 64-bit PC and the dongle works like a charm as just plug it in and windows will install drivers for you

Bought to test the Bluetooth performance of my SMA Solar PV inverter. Did the job well by showing that the problem is with the bluetooth unit in the inverter and not the characteristics of my home or interference from my router. Product installed itself in Vista 32 bit. The CD that comes with it is pretty useless as it gives no indication of what is on it - but it is not needed anyway. Product arrived promptly well within the 5 days allowed for free delivery. Does what it says on the tin and rather better than my Belkin Class 2 bluetooth adapter which is fine for close up comms and does not stick out of the USB port like this one.

Needed to connect to a remote Solar Energy inverter to monitor the operation. Previous Bluetooth USB adapter had great difficulty in connecting to the inverter, often requiring multiple attempts to connect which was very frustrating. This Adapter connects first time every time. Very pleased with it.
