The drawings are very good, and I love the stitch direction guide. I would like more applications, photos and explanations.

I loved the patterns in this book. I was working on denim so I couldn’t trace on fabric with a light box. Instead I used my cricut and converted the patterns to cut files and made stencils. Saved me TONS of money.

It's a book of options. It is well ordered and organized. The diagram of each option on graph paper is nice.

This is a terrific resource for the lovers of Sashiko. Not a how to from the start book for absolute beginners, but a great compendium of inspiring patterns that the individual can graph out and transfer to the cloth of her choice. Lots of classical patterns to choose from if you're prepared to do a little more work to become more deeply involved in this ancient craft, and to shed the constraints of using the limited range of available stencils. This is a splendid book for those who want to branch out further, and exploit the opportunities for wider creative stitchery.
