Amazing for the "crafty drinker"
I had wanted this product for a while, but was a little unsure about ordering this due to the price and because of the noted "strong learning curve" by most reviewers. Finally went for it, and couldn't be happier. There is definitely a learning curve, but the video posted on their website helped a lot. (TIP: only use rapidly boiling water, and poor it on slowly and sparingly, or else the score will break harshly with a bunch of ridges; and only loosely grip the cutter to the bottle, or else it will be difficult to turn and encourage a wobbly cut) After about 5 or so semi-successful attempts and 2-3 duds, you will the "straightness" of the cut down become a pro! Awesome for beer fans that admire not only admire the craft in the beer, but the craft in the bottle art. Makes spending money on a delicious 22oz worth it even more when you know that you're also investing in a DIY one-of-a-kind glass. The seller also gives you a 15% off coupon with the order and some cool stickers.

Make sure you have very good forearm strength and hand grip, you'll need it.
Incredibly simple instructions. It should be noted, that thicker bottles tend to work much better, thinner bottles that are intended to be disposed of tend to crack where you don't want them to. The wheels that hold the bottle really need to turn more freely. To keep the bottle squarely aligned you have to crank down on the cutter. This then requires a great deal of force to turn the bottle. I've had several shatter in my hands, fortunately no injuries to date, just a massive mess to clean up.

Lots of fun, WITH practice.
The Kinkajou gave me the necessary tool to do what I wanted, which was to score glass. I get a perfect score every 4/5 bottles. As for the pouring separation process, I find that typically thinner bottles such as beer bottles are much easier to handle. Wine bottles are just as easy to score as beer bottles, yet they are more prone to imperfect separation problems. All in all, it's a great product, and I thoroughly enjoy my new hobby.

Worked well after much practice.
Worked well. Took a lot of practice and video watching to get used to doing it right though. Practice on crappy bottles and do your "nice" ones after you warm up/get the technique down.

The Packing was a Problem!
For what it does, this works pretty great! However, it arrived in brand new packaging- with the Kinkajou itself covered in dirt. The packaging also claimed to come with sandpaper.... it did not. For the money I spent, this item should not have come dirty and when I am told it also comes with extra items.... it should come with those items.

Fun!
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my dad he's been saving bottles for he and I to cut and we've never gotten around to it. He opened it Christmas eve and Christmas day he had to show me how well he had cut several bottles. I'd say it was a hit! He loves it.
