Great Quality Heater!
I own 3 of these now. I finished my basement and the furnace doesn't quite keep the bedrooms warm enough during the winter so I bought one of these. I tested it in a large room, about 275 sq. ft, and it worked really well (all walls and ceilings are insulated). It was such a good heater I bought another one for another basement bedroom. And recently I bought one for an upstairs bedroom that can get a little chilly at night. Pros: 1. Excellent build quality. It's made of wood and feels solid. Inside the wood cabinet that houses the blower and heating parts is made of sheet metal. So it's a wood cabinet that houses a metal box, with all the components inside of that metal box. I point this out because aside from the buttons on the front to operate, there is very little plastic on this heater. The castors (plastic) work well and roll on thick plush carpet. The wood cherry cabinet might look a little unusual or dated to some people but it does look like nicer, in my opinion, than all the other cheap plastic space heaters out there. 2. Heats well. The little heater pumps out air pretty efficiently. It can heat our large bedroom from 65 to 70 in a few minutes. The little blower on it is quiet and doesn't cause problems for those sleeping in the room. They describe it as white noise, on the eco setting, which still heats the large room well and keeps it warm. 3. Features are great. - Has a timer that I believe maxes out at 12 hours - It has an actual thermostat (you can see hanging out the back). You can set the desired room temperature. 68 degrees F is the default out of the box temp. Push the mode and arrow down button at the same time to see current room temp. - Has different modes, eco, medium, and high. We mostly use eco for the cost savings and because it's pretty darn efficient. - Remote is provided is definitely, but see my cons lists 4. Support is available and mostly responsive. Good support is key in a quality product. While nobody should ever have to use it, it's nice to have it available. See my cons lists below for more on support but they have a responsive support team, even if it can be a little delayed. 5. Comes all put together, including castors. Just pull it out of the box and follow the instructions taped on the front of the unit to get going. Cons: 1. The remote - The remote is required to set the timer. This is the single part of this heater I think is poor design. What if the remote is lost or doesn't work? How hard would it be to add this functionality to the unit itself? - On one unit the remote stopped working. I contacted support and they took several days to respond. I had to email them again to see if they received my initial email. They did respond, and going forward communication was relatively smooth. They sent me a new remote, which didn't fix the problem. I lost communication with them again for several days when I reported this. They then came back and said I had to replace the main board on the unit. It's on the front of the heater. It's what the temp is displayed on and the buttons push into. Problem is you have to take the metal housing out of the inside of the wood box and take that covering off to get to the board. It wasn't too bad to replace. You really have to just remove about two dozen or more screws, swap out the board and put everything back together. They provided a relatively helpful video, though it's missing a few key parts. Like how the metal casing fits back together (corners overlap in some places and not others), and they didn't provide me with replacement zip ties, but I had some on hand. They did ask me before sending if I could do it myself and I said yes. I suspect if this repair makes you nervous they had some kind of alternate way to get it repaired for you. I figured this would save me time by doing it myself. It took me about an hour. Overall they backed their product and support did help me get the problem resolved. The cons here are the fact that it took about 3 to 4 weeks worth of emails and a board replacement to get it working again. The pros are they supported their product, and did actually respond, even if it said response was delayed sometimes. The remote has worked fine on my 2 other units. So I assume it was just a faulty board, which does happen in the world of mass production. 2. Support can be slow to respond - see previous con As a side note, I'm not entirely sure what safety features are available with this. I've never tested them. The front of the unit doesn't get hot enough to burn you if you touched it, but it is blowing out very hot air so that alone could potentially hurt little kids or pets, or be very uncomfortable. Usually these space heaters have a tipping feature that would turn it off. I haven't tested for this feature but I will and I'll come back and update this review. The thing is that based on its design being a square box on wheels it's not likely to be tipped over. The more common shaped space heaters like the towers or ones that sit on a small narrow plastic base and are top heavy are far more likely to be tipped over. UPDATE ON THIS: I tested it and it does have a tipping safety feature and will turn off. It's pretty quick to turn off and even when it's turned back up right you have to turn it back on. It still would take some effort to knock over, but it's nice to know it's there. Overall, I'd definitely recommend buying one, or three. I know they're more expensive than other heaters with similar specs and features, but the build quality alone should be enough for people to consider it. You'll spend more on this heater than others but it will also last you a lot longer. I suspect we'll have these for many many years.

Great supplemental heater
We bought this heater to use in our living room and kitchen/dining area. We have all baseboard heat and our heating bills are usually through the roof. This heater does a good job and we are very happy, but there are a few things to point out. 1. It is a smaller heater than you might expect. It is half the price of an eden pure...but be advised that it's about half the size of the eden pure my parents have. That said, I think I'd rather have two of these than one eden pure that way I can space them out more. 2. This thing won't heat a 1000 sq/ft area. We use it in a 250-300 sq/ft living room that has an opening to our kitchen dining room that is about 250 sq/ft. It will heat up the room and maintain when it is as cold as the 20's outside...colder than that and we need to use our baseboard w/ this heater to get it up to temp (in about 10 minutes mind you)...and then this heater will do a great job of maintaining that heat on it's own. We did this down to about 4-5 degrees(F) outside and it worked great. 3. Haven't got a clue on heating bill, but it does draw some serious current. I have blown our breaker more than once by using this heater and our vacuum on the same outlet (always forget the heater is on...see 4) 4. Heater is very quiet and you won't even realize the thing is on except for seeing the orange glow back inside of the heater. 5. The wheels are awesome. We usually heat the living room for a few hours, then wheel it into the kitchen dining room for 20 minutes, then back for a couple hours.....super easy to do as you walk by and keeps both rooms at a comfy 71-74 degrees. Bottom line is it is a great heater. It is drawing a lot of current but probably not more than 2 baseboard heaters that we virtually don't use now.....which have their own breaker each. I'd recommend it highly as it really gives you the cozy feeling that you don't get with those heaters that heat the air....compared to this one that heats you and the objects in the room. You can really tell the difference.

My Favorite Heater for Comfort and Convenience
I’ve been using the Dr Infrared Heater DR-998, and honestly, it’s one of the best heaters I’ve owned. It warms up my space quickly and keeps it consistently comfortable without that harsh, dry heat some heaters give off. What I really appreciate is the built-in humidifier it makes a noticeable difference, especially in the winter when the air gets so dry. I don’t wake up feeling stuffy or uncomfortable, which has been a big plus for me. I also love how easy it is to use. The remote is convenient, the oscillation helps spread the heat evenly, and I feel good knowing it has solid safety features. It’s a little heavier than some heaters, but the wheels make moving it around simple. Overall, it just works reliable, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. It’s become my go-to for staying warm without sacrificing comfort.

Pretty good
Great heater and looks really good I did think it would do a little bit better in a bigger room so that's really my only complaint besides that it looks really nice and puts out a good amount if heat I just wish it was more for this bigger area I had. Only used it through one winter will update if it doesn't last.

I'm 73 Years Old and this is the BEST portable electric heater I've ever owned!
My wife purchased one of these units at a garage sale for a really low price ... we plugged it in and near instantly our otherwise chilly family room was warm and toasty ... Our daughter visited us, fell in love with the unit and ended up taking it home with her! I immediately jumped on Amazon, bought a replacement unit and, as a result, have been able to make it through this years brutal winter. It's not going to heat your while house but it'll certainly prevent you from having to crank up the whole house furnace. The unit is solidly built, easy to use, on easy to roll casters, is whisper-quiet, has a remote control and really gets the job done!

I have an open concept +1000sqf space I'm trying to compliment while trying to lower my nat. gas bill. On it's own, it won't heat the space unless you're okay with warming the person nearest and in front of the heater. However, with my nat. gas thermostat lowered to 18C, this heater does a great job doing the rest to make the large room very comfortable. This time last year, at our local rates, it was costing me close to $600 per month to heat this house. My last two bills averaged $350 and it's been between -44C and -10C for most of that time. There have been rebates for energy that I have yet to factor in but there is a noticeable difference in room temperature when this heater is running. When I leave the house, I turn the heater off but I still allow the nat. gas furnace to run at 18C so when I get home, I do notice the difference in room temperature when the heater has been off for a while. I highly recommend.

easy to set up and move with the wheels mounted on the bottom , looks great , almost to nice to use in garage , heats up quickly not much noise , move plenty of HOT air on high , like the filter on back , easy to remove and clean . . Overall a well made heater that is easy to use , if it lasts as long as stated it is a fantastic value UPDATE been over 1 year of use still works as advertised keeps the room at a steady 71 degrees cycles on and off every once in a while but fan is quiet have to be listening for it to be noticed . no more cold spots in the room with this heater running , no noticeable increase in electric bill it might be a bit lower as the baseboard heaters are working less often 2ND YEAR OF USE STILL WORKING WELL HEATS my 30x16 room easily keeps it at a steady 72 degrees , puts out plenty of heat keeps my garage at 54 all winter , heating bills have gone down since replacing the old industrial heater with this . with tis heater room is a constant 38 to 42 percent humidity , when using the baseboard heaters humidity drops to between 25 and 34 percent . will be buying another for the basement , much better than the old baseboard heaters in there now. Update 2 , bought a second unit to use in the basement , heats up very quickly keeps the basement at a constant 68 degrees , when you use in econo mode it cycles on and off once in a while to test ambient temp if the temp is lower than 68 it turns on the heat if not is shuts down , people have commented that it cycles on and off , that is the reason for the cycling on and off to see if the temp is low enough that it needs to turn on heater , it is quiet so the cycling on or off should not bother you unless the heater is within a few feet of you , so far very pleased with these heaters mow have 3 heaters , these are the best space heaters i've ever used , i find them super quiet maybe the others complaining of being loud have bad units , the 3 i have are just about silent not disturbing at all worth the money , hydro bill has gone down as well . forgot to add it heats up very quickly , have one at the entrance to my house after shoveling snow i sit in front of the heater for a minute or 2 and i'm warm great way to defrost
