Great books

I've been wanting to try this stitch for years. The patterns are clear. I am a perfectionist and I've been crocheting for more than 30 years, so I don't like the way my project was turning out. Probably doesn't help that I am using cotton, so there is absolutely no give. I definitely need to practice more. But the book was great.

afghan cr stitches explained

Learn Tunisian Crochet: Beginner Stitch Guide & 6 Easy Potholder Patterns (Tiger Road Crafts Book 2)Starts out explaining the differences and the things that are the same with regular crochet, knitting and afghan stitch crochet.I am a crochet designer and have tried this method of crocheting but didn't realize how much more you can really do with the stitches.Lots of photos and diagrams to help explain things.Patterns are included. Really good straight to the point book, great references!

Highly Recommended

This is a very good book for anyone who wants to try a different kind of crocheting. The book gives step by step instructions in how to make different stitches in the Tunisian style, with plenty of illustrations/photos of the step by step instructions. The pattern this type of crochet makes is very appealing and almost looks like the article was knitted instead of crocheted. I was very happy with my selection of this e-book, and would recommend it to anyone interested in something a little new to do in the field of crocheting.

Well written

I bought this book because Tunisian crochet intrigued me. I used to love to knit but now I keep dropping stitches. So I started to teach myself to crochet. But I still miss knitting. Enter Tunisian crochet. This book is easy to understand, and teaches how to understand a written pattern and includes many photos of the stitches. The variety of stitches used in the pot holder projects makes me feel that I can go on to bigger projects.

why?

On the whole, a good book for beginners like me. But why on earth isn't the subject of the left edge, meaning the last stich, made clearer? No diagram or picture included on how to do that! And there is nothing worse than messy edges on any type of crochet... Frustrating!

tunisian

I have not started to do the tunisian crochet (waiting for my hooks from Amazon) I thought the book is easy to understand the different stitches. The true test will be when I actually try to follow the directions which would be my fault and not the book.

Excellent Book

I bought this because I've done ordinary crochet but never 'Tunisian' and wanted to learn. It is absolutely brilliant for anyone who wants to learn to basic stitches. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow and there are several basic stitches included. There are a few patterns also, but that isn't really the point of this book. The patterns included are just practice pieces really. If you want a book of patterns then get a pattern book, but if you want to learn how to do these stitches, then this is a must. Incidentally, I am now a complete convert to this attractive method of crochet.

Best ever

I have been crocheting on and off for the last 32 yrs and I still think of myself as a beginner. I love finding new things to crochet and when I came across this book I could not resist trying it out.I love this book, it is well laid out and the pictures are clear and easy to follow and there are pot holder projects in the back for you to try.I am now hooked on Tunisian crochet thanks to this book, I have gone and bought myself a complete set of Tunisian hooks to go along side my traditional hook.ANYONE THINKING OF BUYING THIS BOOK WILL NOT GO WRONG

Good starter

I’ve literally just started on Tunisian crochet, so this was quite helpful and easy to follow. However, one thing that was left out is what to do at the end of each row. What do you stitch into and do you make a chain before the return row starts or just take the first single pull through as the ‘turning’ chain? Just a little thing and I don’t think it’ll affect designs too much, so long as you keep to one method (?):@)

Very good introduction. Worth every penny.

A great introduction. If you're keen on Tunisian Crochet, then you'll zip through the ideas and techniques in a flash - as the book is slim. However, there is really good advice, and plenty of photos and illustrations.Makes getting started a zip ... now to master the more time consuming matter of dexterity.

Good for beginners

Not entirely what I was expecting, but a well written, informative and useful book.
