The Art of The Lion King (Disney Miniature Series)

Delivery didn't exactly follow instructions, but they did their job right with this one.

I didn't realize it was the "miniature" book when I was ordering, of course I was surprised and disappointed when I received the package, but it was my fault. Make no mistake, this is a beautiful book, you get all the artworks from the normal edition, but no text on the making of the movie - because of the size, they've done a good job since it is such a small book bringing all the artwork and it has text explaining the story. It's an art book combined with storybook. Definitely want the gigantic book for the complete experience.

I love this book. It has lots of beautiful art that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. It doesn't have many actual words in it though, mostly image captions, but it doesn't bother me. I usually feel overwhelmed with everything the typical art books try to throw at you. I think it is an excellent book with a lovely cover and I would highly recommend it for any Lion King fan.

Apart from the fact that my copy was close to pocket size, i thought that this book was fantastic. Not only does it come filled with amazing concepts, it also is accompanied with the Lion King Storyline. As an illustrator and student animator, it is a wonderful addition to my resources. The sketches through to the complete full colour images are for any Lion King fan, artists or just someone wanting a beautiful coffee table book. If your from overseas like myself and cannot get these kind of books in Australia, i reccommend Amazon and their associate stores. Buy this, its great.

I'm a huge Lion King fan, so for me, this book is like the Holy Bible ! It was even bigger than I was expecting it to be, the sketches in it are really magnificent, and it's awesome to know they are authentic because drawn by the Lion King makers. I'm not disappointed at all, I recommend it to all the Lion King fans who wish to see how Disney's greatest masterpiece was made.

This arrived in mint condition and fulfilled all of my expectations! The book is beautiful and the sketches are breathtaking. There are lots of large, 2-page prints that are beautiful. If you collect the "Art of ......" like I do, this NEEDS to be in your collection.

Everything came as described! No surprise tears or markings! The book is really gorgeous. It’s informative and really worth the purchase.

I was very disappointed when I received this book.It's almost all production stills, they have hardly any developmental art, and what they do show is rather lame story board art.And instead of any sort of explanation for their choices, the making of the film etc. They tell you the plot of the film.It's a children's book, which happens to contain a few story board sketches...As someone who collects 'art of' books for animated films, this is by far and away one of the worst, which was a surprise considering the film itself.I'm a bit afraid to get the large one, for fear I will get nothing but glossy production stills and a few tepid sketches.

I thought this book would be full of beautiful illustrations but instead its aimed more at actual film makers. Found it quite dull and so sold it on.

The book is too small and I cant enjoy the photos.

ATTENZIONE l'annuncio Amazon è fuorviante; questa è la versione tascabile della serie "Diseny Miniatures" e non il libro di dimensioni intere; l'annuncio non ne fa menzione a meno che non si legga nel dettaglio la parte "Dettagli Prodotto" sotto la voce "Editore" (Editore ‏ : ‎ Disney Editions; Disney Miniature ed. edizione (12 ottobre 1995) )A parte una piccola macchia di muffa secca (facilmente rimossa con un panno leggermente umido) all'interno della copertina, il libro è in ottime condizioni. La qualità di stampa delle pagine è alla pari con quella del libro di dimensioni intere, immagini molto dettagliate, leggibili e colori vividi e intensi. Le pagine sono ancora bianche e brillanti nonostante il libro sia del '95.Detto ciò, resta il problema che è la versione tascabile. Delle 403 immagini del libro originale, ce ne sono solo 211 (solo la metà), le restanti 192 sono state omesse per questioni di spazio; mancano quindi numerosi sketch, storyboards e illustrazioni/concept art. Mancano inoltre tutte le informazioni accanto alle immagini su chi le ha disegnate e numerose parti testuali che danno meglio un'idea sul processo creativo degli artisti che hanno lavorato sul film, in particolare il capitolo finale "Afterward" (omesso completamente) che parla del viaggio del gruppo creativo Disney in Africa.Nonostante sia rimasto deluso dal non aver ricevuto quello che ho ordinato, credo che lo terrò ugualmente. L'ho pagato poco ed è comunque una valida alternativa (temporanea, si spera) alla versione integrale.Questa versione "Disney Miniatures" è un ottimo libro, di alta qualita e molto informativo e si becca un 4/5.Il libro dell'annuncio, tuttavia si becca un 1/5 perché, volontariamente o no, fornisce una descrizione fuorviante del prodotto.

Il libro è molto molto carino con tante immagini tratte dal film, ma . . . .!!! ATTENZIONE !!!Le dimensioni del libro sono piccolissime, poichè questa è la versioni mini dell'originale. Ma purtroppo questa informazione non è riportata nella descrizione, ma solo nell'editore che è DISNEY MINIATURE.Ho fatto presente il problema al venditore, e si è reso disponibile al reso e rimborso.

Este libro es un buen ejemplar de los inicios de los libros de arte de las peliculas de animación, de hecho, esta entre mis preferidos. Cierto es que para los más exigentes puede parecer un libro falto de imagenes a color porque los actuales casi no ponen nada en B/N, pero trae muchos diseños de personajes, preparación de fondos, estructura del color en los planos más ambientados, y sobre todo explicación del storyboard de la pelicula. Creo que en resumen es un buen libro que con el paso de los años a envejecido muy bien.Otra cosa es quien lo haya cuidado y conservado, cierto es que estos libros tienen 20 años y quien más quien menos lo lee y los usa.Cuidado con las versiones miniatura, el bueno es el grande de tapa dura
