I wear a size 8.5 and usually I have to size up to 9, but I did that this time and they were huge. So I returned them and ordered the 8, and they fit perfectly. I normally wear a 7.5 in shoes but due to a recent surgery, my foot swells bad so I went up to a 9 and, they fit great. I read there were issues with the calf fitting too tight so I went bigger just in case, no issues! I would definitely measure your calf prior just in case. I'm not a tiny girl, but I run and exercise alot, so I have muscular calfs and worried about the boots being too tight, but they fit great with room to spare. I do not mind the smell as all boots of this material will have this smell, it dissipates after the boots have sit outside for a week, and it's not bad on these.
