Mavic Ksyrium Elite UST Wheel

The wheel I received was not trued out of the box.

Tire seemed seated, valve was installed upon arrival. No sealant in the box. Filled to max pressure. Flat after about 48hrs. Will add to the review after I get a chance to pop the bead to check for sealant.

Would be 5 stars. Mine did not come with sealant .

I really like Mavic. My last 2 set of wheels have been Mavic. These wheels are great but the tires and sealant are junk. The sealant wouldn't stop a pin sized hole in one tire. There are other brands out there that work a lot better. You should add ground pepper to anything you use. You can Google that if you need more instruction. I thought I was good to go after switching sealant. On to problem number 2. I put a picture below of the Mavic tire under another brand. The rear lip would like to unseat every now and then. Not enough to come off the rim but enough to spray sealant and go flat. You can see in the pic that the lip isn't perfectly square on the Mavic. It is a bit thinner too. The other vendors have a very square lip that locks into a UST rim a lot better. I would also like to mention that the Mavic tires went on really easy and two other brands were not easy to get on. There might be some quality control in tire diameter. If you get these wheels just be prepared to spent another 100+ on new tires and bottle of sealant. I hope you already have pepper in your kitchen.

These wheels replaced an Ultegra set that was damaged when my bike was shipped cross country. These feel a bit stiffer and have been perfectly true after 2,000+ miles.
