Convenient, but with a few caveats
Overall, I'm happy with it. The lid could be a little easier to open, but at least it seems secure once closed. The convenience of not having to wash both a cup and a blender jar is worth the investment. Also, the fact that you can pair this with most Oster blenders means you can have something much more powerful than a Magic Bullet, or most single serve blenders. This is especially handy for crushing ice, or blending frozen fruits. I've been using this blender cup every day for a few weeks now, and overall it's been a good product. I do have a few critiques though.First, getting the blade off after blending can be a little tricky if it forms a suction, which usually happens. More than once I've had my finger slip as the top comes off while trying to pry it open, only for the tip of one of the bottom blades to nick me. I'd recommend using a butter knife to break the suction rather than trying to pry it open with your finger. The design could be improved to make this easier to remove by hand without any tools.Second, it's not too hard for the rubber gasket to get out of place as you're screwing it all together. I had the gasket manage to get up inside the blender bottle without noticing, until it was too late. I had part of one of my gaskets get blended up into my shake. Fortunately, they provide you an extra one. Just be careful to double check the seal, and this won't be an issue.Aside from those issues, it's a good design. I can see myself using this for years to come.

This is just about the most useful item I ever paid $10 for, once I learned how to use it.
Here are some tips:1. Don't use the sealing ring. The instructions say to put the rubber gasket between the cup and the blade assembly. But the lip of the cup is not wide enough to hold it and the gaskets will get sucked into your smoothie. This happened twice. Then I started putting it between the blade assembly and the screw on base. But then I figured out I didn't need it. It seals plenty tight without it and does not leak during the blending process.2. Blending with ice. A blender jar is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom where the blade is. This sucks the ice into the blade. It is the opposite on this cup, it is widest where the blade is, and chunks of ice don't get sucked in as well. You have to keep pulsing to get all the ice crushed and blended. Turn it off until you hear the pieces of ice start to settle - it will sound like rocks - then pulse at full speed to suck in the ice. I have to do this several times to get all the ice into the blade. It will make a whining sound when there are still small pieces of ice, as they are tossed against the side of the cup. You will know when all the ice is blended when the whining stops, or when you shut it off and it doesn't like rocks are falling inside.

Exactly what I needed.
I started out considering paying 60+ dollars for the Cuisinart personal blender-and-cups set, which was a decent price but I wasn't sure I wanted to invest that kind of money when I already had a very nice Oster beehive blender. I also looked at the Farberwear set, but the reviews weren't great. Then I found this.First, I love that it works with my existing blender, so I don't have another piece of equipment to store and/or plug in. It comes with its own stainless steel blade, and as it works on the Oster blender base, that gives it the power to demolish ice and blend quickly. Plus an extra rubber gasket! I don't think I got an extra gasket with my original blender, so that's a bonus. The plastic cup is big enough to make a sizable drink, and sturdy while still being light enough to carry around comfortably. The travel lid secures VERY well, designed so you can throw it in a bag and it won't leak. The flip-up top snaps open in place, which is nice -- my only quibble is that if I'm not careful, the lid touches my forehead when I drink, which isn't great but hardly a dealbreaker.I like that I can make a protein shake for my husband with his preferred ingredients, pour it for him, then do a quick rinse and make mine to drink out of the cup. Making separate shakes using the big blender was annoying. With the affordability and quality of this blender cup, I'll probably buy a second one so we each have our own! Highly recommended.UPDATE: I've been using this almost daily for over a month, and it's an amazing investment -- SO much easier than using and cleaner the full blender carafe for smoothies and Bulletproof Coffee. Some reviewers have complained that because it's light, it can wobble and even fly off the base when you use it. The solution: Put your hand on it. It's 20 seconds of your life. Just put your hand on the top of the thing while it's turned on. That's a really stupid thing to complain about.

Oh dear! It works great, but dies quickly.
I have been through two of these now and they both died within a week in the same way. I was initially pleased at how well they worked with my ancient oster base. But then, a couple washings in, it died spectacularly. First, it ate a gasket which I strained out of my smoothie. I ordered some back up gaskets, and a backup bottle. The next time I went to make a smoothie in the bottle I noticed it leaking as I went to mount it on the motor. So I patched the hole with chewing gum and packing tape to finish my smoothie. Then recycled the bottle. It has the right markings to recycle BTW. I used the back up bottle when it came in more carefully, but I noticed some bending in the blade mounting plate after a couple washings. Within a couple uses of that, the bottle died quite spectacularly when it ate the gasket and started spewing smoothie out side and all over the counter and backsplash of my kitchen. That smoothie was unsalvageable. It isn't losing the seal either. The plastic is failing at the little moldings near the threads and leaving a hole. Both bottles failed in the same spot.

Nice size and quality, only buy in a sealed box that includes ALL PARTS.
Pros: Nice size to blend smaller portion than a full size blender pitcher, totally closed while blending (less mess), same Oster quality with blade assembly. Cons: mine arrived without the lid and the second rubber gasket. Doesn't seem to pulverize ice as completely as a full size pitcher, but this may just be something I need to adjust. Not going to waste time trying to send back, but bummed I can't mix something and take it with me sealed. Still useful and great I don't have to go buy a specialty blender for smoothies.6/16/18 update - I'm still miffed that it didn't come with all the parts, but I had to revise my review because I have used it more and it really rocks as a one serving smoothie blending cup. I must have been doing something wrong initially, but now smoothies come out like VELVET. REALLY MUCH BETTER than the typical blender pitcher. I'm so pleased I'm going to buy a new blender that comes with one of these and have a backup. I had wash so have not had the dishwasher melting issue, but really works well for me so far>

Excellent Cup
I think this is a great cup. The other reviews worried me that the plastic would be "flimsy," but I didn't find this to be the case. I don't know if Oster changed the material (it looks like the same translucent plastic) but I can't even get the cup to bend if I squeeze it hard with both hands. The smoothies I make in this cup are just as good as those I make in the glass blender jar: no problems with ice-crushing ability. I even use this cup when I'm not "on-the-go" just to reduce the dishes I need to wash. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I wish the cup was a little smaller. Probably not everyone will agree with me, but no one needs THAT much smoothie for breakfast and I would rather have it fit into my bag more easily. The description says 18 oz blending capacity, but I would say it's closer to 20. Sometimes I'm just annoyed that I'm carrying this huge cup that's only 1/2 to 2/3 full. But that's just my preference. Oh yeah, and it's too tall to use a normal straw, if that's how you prefer to drink smoothies, but it works pretty well strawless. On a related note, there are reviews on this same product from another vendor that complain about the cup's lid design, claiming it, "NOT good to use while driving." Seriously? Did you not figure out that you can turn the cup sideways?

This set is perfect for my needs!
I needed more gaskets & another blade for my Oster blender & this package was comparably priced with the O-rings/blade combos themselves. My blades were dull, & a smoothie bottle to boot was too much to resist. I'm glad I went for this set, it's been awesome!.The gaskets & blades were just right, the smoothie bottle fit perfectly on my blender base without issue. Those who complained of leaks -did you make sure the stopper nubs on the sides of the container were lined up with the nubs on the blender base? I've had no leaks, & the smoothie bottle doesn't leak on the go either. I've had my Oster for 6 years now, I'm used to the container "travelling" & leaking from the collar threads if not kept in check one way or another. The smoothie bottle is perfect sized; for my coffee replacement shakes made with Barlee for a caffeine-free iced coffee treat., or for heaping handfulls of mixed greens, chia, & yogurt for a healthy mid-day drink. 10/10 would buy again!

Not what I expected!
First off I'll get the good stuff down. I ordered this on this past Friday and it was to be delivered on Sunday, I got it Saturday morning which was less than 24 hours after I placed the order. I guess it helps to live close to an Amazon fulfillment center as they call them, the one in Schertz, TX is just up IH35 a piece from where I live. The bottle itself is clear plastic and doesn't seem to hold the taste orof whatever is blended in it, it doesn't discolor easily either from what I can tell. These points aside I'll now get down to the nitty gritty of why I wasn't able to give it more than two stars. First off although this is an excellent idea the bottle is very poorly designed in my opinion. It's fairly standard in shape, narrow on the bottom then flares out at the top. This however causes problems as it means there's a lip inside the top of the bottle where the drinking lid fits and you can't get every little bit of whatever you've made out either using the top to drink from or if you use a straw. After noticing the tiny bit left I retrieved a straight stainless steel straw and tried using it but there was still a tiny bit left. The only way to clean it is by putting water and a drop of soap in it, putting the blade assembly back on and using the blender to stir the liquid around in it. Because the top is so narrow you can't put your han/d and a sponge or dish rag inside to clean it. Then you have to replace the blending assembly with the drinking lid and shake it so that the lid gets cleaned. You can was the lid by had but it's extremely difficult to get open unless it actually on the bottle itself which is why I resorted to shaking the bottle by hand with the drinking lid on it. When you open the cover for the drinking lid it doesn't lie flat but sticks up and pokes you in the forehead while you drink. This morning I gave up fighting with it, put the new blade, a new seal, and the new bottom on my regular blender bottle and umased it to make my morning shake. I admit I only made six protein shakes, two each day that I have had the new blender bottle but I feel that was a sufficient number to make the decision about it. I'm seriously debating on donating the bottle, drinking lid, and one of the new seals to Goodwill for them to see if they can sell it.

Adds versitility to old blender
I have an Oster blender that has to be at least 30 years old. It is so heavy that it’s hard to move it, but I don’t have a Lot of height room for the full blender on my cupboard. I have been looking and looking and looking for a nice short blender bottle that I can use for blending liquids. This is absolutely perfect. The blade attachment comes with two little rings in just in case you happen to shop one up by mistake, and it fits this old blender just perfectly. It chop smaller pieces of ice to Very easily. Making nice smooth creamy miles or whatever you want to make. It’s easy to drink from and the best part of all is that when you snapped a cover shot it doesn’t leak all over you when you carry it. Plus the price was excellent

Step aside NutriBullet!
Step aside Magic Bullet, NutriBullet and fruit ninja or whatever else. This blending cup with included blade is the perfect companion to your Oster blender. I almost bought the $99 NutriBullet but decided to give this cup a try. If you have an Oster Blender, you must get this cup. i use the Blend and Go cup with my 600W metal drive Oster Fusion and it blends whatever I can squeeze in it (kale, frozen berries, frozen vegetables, nuts, bolts, etc...) The items being blended don't get a chance to spread out to top or stick on side walls like in full size jars. The compact tapered jar helps the blade pull everything to be pulverized. The plastic cup is thick and very sturdy and has recycling #2 on the bottom. This is the same stuff they make milk jugs and butter tubs. I checked, it's considered food safe and almost no risk of BPA specially most items prepared will be cold or frozen. Still, I would like to have the option of a cup made out of Pyrex (boraslicate) glass for easy cleaning like the full size jars, but plastic cup is shatter proof that you can carry in your gym bag.

Nice set; not quite perfect...
I love my Oster blender. It's a decade old, replacing one that lasted 3 decades before that. And I love that Oster offers so many replacement and alternate parts & fittings. I ended up replacing the plastic cup in this set with a handled Mason jar/mug I bought for 1.99 at my local hardware store. The threads are a perfect fit (again, kudos to Oster!), and the handle allows me to drink my morning frozen fruit smoothies without freezing my fingers. The plastic jar, however, fits in a car beverage holder, so I'm keeping it for that use. My only complaint is that it's very hard to clean - the little stops are hollow and fill with smoothie bits that are nearly impossible to get out. Oster, can't you send a couple more cents on plastic and make the stops solid?

Poor design, decline in quality control and then discontinued?
My Amazon order history shows that I purchased the Oster Blend-N-Go Smoothie Kit 5 different times since 2011, and I know I purchased the kit at least a 2-3 other times in stores. We have two Fusion blenders that we use on a daily basis.Up until a couple years ago, I was reasonably satisfied with these blender cups. They have a limited lifespan, but I'm OK with replacing them every couple years. The plastic fins on the cups are a fail point, and they will eventually crack or start leaking, but the kit comes with a replacement blade and some spare gaskets which also need to be replaced periodically, so it's a decent deal. But I purchased 3 Oster-branded Blend-N-Go kits in 2019, and all of the cups failed within a matter of weeks. Reviews on Amazon suggested these may not be genuine Oster products and they were not dishwasher safe (I've been washing the previous Oster cups in the diswasher for a decade), but all of the packaging appeared to be genuine Oster, so I don't know if their quality went to hell or if these were counterfeit items (Amazon is shown as the seller). These most recent orders were indeed different—a clear plastic as opposed to the opaque version shown in the attached photo. Two were unusable after warping in the dishwasher, and the 3rd (which we washed strictly by hand) broke at the fin after just a few uses.At the time, we were too busy to deal with trying to return the faulty items, so I just wrote it off as a loss. But now these cups aren't available anywhere, even directly from Oster. Two sellers offer a 3rd party replacement (non DW safe), but I think I'm done throwing good money after bad.Oster sells a couple of newer blenders with a newer design of the blend-n-go cup (2-3 different designs actually). But these cups don't appear to be available separately either. Is their strategy to make you buy a whole new blender each time while tossing the old, functioning blenders in a landfill?

Great addition to almost any Oster blender. Bet it fits yours too!
These things a great, if you have nearly any Oster blender from the past several years, maybe even 10-12 years, this will probably fit. Must be the metal drive system (maybe they all use this) which is the reason I always go with Oster to begin with. Who wants to try and crush ice with plastic crap gearing?Makes a nice smoothie with minimal effort, easy to clean, and holds a lot. Travel lid accepts a smoothie straw, and clicks to close with positive retention. We used the first one so much I ordered a 2nd. We ditched our cheezy As seen on TV nutri blender junk for this, and are glad we did. Those TV machines only last a few months.

Good product, want another one
I've had the cup for a few weeks, and now am very happy with it. At first, I was going to return the cup. Like a number of other reviewers, I found that the top cover is almost impossible to flip open! I even took a small screwdriver to pry it open! I called Oster and they said it shouldn't be doing that. But, I'm persistent. For almost a week, my friends and I took turns trying to open it. It's still a little tight, but works OK.The cup is a strong, durable plastic. I'm not experiencing any leaking. It's easier, and more convenient than getting the whole blender and a separate glass dirty. Cleanup is simple in my dishwasher.

Cap fits better now
This is the second time I bought these smoothie kits. The cap that holds the blade fits much better this time. I'm able to fit them on the top rack fo the dishwasher so no warping as seen in other reviews. The problem I've had is the two protrusions that are opposite of each other to prevent the cup from rotating. They eventually break or crack and start to leak. I will buy these again when I need them. Hopefully whatever oster did to make the cap fit better is a permanent fix.
