Needs Improvement
Basic principle is sound. A float presses a rubber washer against the supply port as the pool level raises and shuts off the water. But there are several poor design choices.(1) The float assembly arms attach to the base with two build-in plastic clips. These clips are very stiff and are extremely difficult to snap over the base connection points. Using a mallet per a suggestion from another review caused one corner of the base to start to collapse. Had to whittle at the plastic with a knife before the clips would snap on. Simple nylon bolts would have been a much better solution.(2) There are two metal bolts with wing nuts that are used to adjust the height of the float. One of the bolts is impossible to install without the use of large needle nose pliers because it is up inside the float cover. Even with pliers it is difficult. An external plate above the float cover would have been a better location for these adjustment bolts.(3) The hose attachment is vertical and results in the water hose looping up into the air. This can cause the hose to kink and reduce water flow, as well as creating a tripping hazard. A 90-degree elbow extension that placed the hose connection next to the base and horizontal to the ground would be both safer and easier to use.Overall, the Airlie appears to be working okay, but further design would have rated 5 stars.

a real time saver
After only a few months of use, one day I discovered that the valve didn't work properly. Prior to that, it worked perfectly, relieving me of the chore of manually having to fill the pool with a garden hose. It was very easy to connect, (except one step of the assembly was pretty difficult, snapping the two parts together). I contacted the seller with a question as to whether it needed service or maintenance or lubrication. They immediately responded, giving me the option of refund or replacement, despite the fact that i specifically noted in my contact with them that I was not expecting either, I just wanted to determine how to repair it. They happily refunded my purchase, great customer service...

Works great needs a little redesign.
Cliff notes: works solid, always runs just a little, warps in the sun but still works. Worth it if you have to fill your pool every day.Break down: Works great. It does not fully shut off so make sure you set it just a tad lower than needed to compensate for the constant running. Water bill hasn't increased too bad and the only other issue is debris collects around and on it. Putting it together was a little ridiculous it took a crazy amount of force to get the clips together. The only other issue I have is the arm is bending there should be a bit more reinforcement on that to ensure it doesn't continue to be and and become useless over time.

It works.
Leveler works - not sure if this one ever totally shuts off from the float or whether it shuts almost off to a slow drip. Regardless, it does the job. Only got it to use on the pool when on vacation and pool loses water through evaporation here in Florida. I had to install a rubber washer (garden hose type) between the pressure valve and the base because it leaked there. Maybe there was supposed to be a washer there but none came with the unit. It is also difficult to screw the garden hose down tight enough onto the unit's connection to keep it from leaking at that point (there is a rubber washer there but I thought I might have to add another because hose did not want to hand tighten enough). Eventually I did get it tight enough by hand to stop leaking at that point.

Work saver
My pool is leaking at least 1 1/2β of water a day. I had a electric remote water refill operating system but it was always failing for one reason or another. So we continuously were adding two to four inches of cold well water, which can be like swimming in Lake Superior. This was just minutes to install and would keep the water at the level i adjusted it to be. I hooked a long black hose to the water valve to solar heat the added water at least on the sunny days and no longer hear my wife complaining about how cold the water is. The well pump does run more often but it also drains the well water out of the ground much slower. I like to think the leaking pool is refilling the ground water at the same time even knowing it cold be years before the water reaches the well. Yes i need to repair the leaky pool. But i might go hunting instead.

Well-Built, Reliable
This looks like a solidly-designed and constructed device. I'm always nervous about anything that controls water, but the float valve design seems solid, and it works really well on our pool, even though we have very high water pressure (about 100-110 PSI on the irrigation system hose that I am connected to).I originally ordered this for keeping the pool filled when we are on vacation, particularly in summer, without having to inconvenience the neighbors (and worry that they will forget and leave the water on, as I have done twice now). But it is so convenient, that I have just left it in place. Yes, it's a little unattractive, but it seems much smaller on the side of the pool, and we have it in a back corner area.It is a little difficult to snap the supports onto the mount: I carefully used some channel-lock pliers to help with this, but be careful not to damage the plastic.

CHANGED MY REVIEW
I was going to write a not so good review but just got an email from the company saying they were sending me a replacement. THAT IS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE NO MATTER WHAT THE PRODUCT!! I had a small issue with it but I always said I would rather buy a bad product from a good company than a good product from a bad company. As it turns out I'm getting a good product from a great company. If you are looking for something to keep the water level GET this device and the company will make sure you are happy. As another idea the way I hooked this up is I added a spigot to the end of my sprinkler line. When the sprinklers come on it adds water if necessary and waters my lawn at the same time. this way there is NO constant pressure on the hose or device. This way we can turn off the water to the house when we go away (for flood safety) and still keep water in the pool
