Powermaster 9503

My old starter was on its way out. She was the original tired gal from 1966 pretty sure. This puppy cranks the car no problem!

Ordered this item while I was stationed overseas expecting to install it soon..Unfortunately it sat in at the vehicle location for 18 months awaiting my return.Upon return I attempted to install the item and found it inoperative. The solenoid connection was faulty and may have been broken in shipment, but after 18 months I had no options with claiming it via USPS or Amazon. I emailed Powermaster Performance and had a response on the next day, Saturday. The owner called me and worked out a way for me to get a replacement in the local area and within the same day.This is a top of the line starter that will out last your flywheel or flexplate gears. It cranks my 13:1 SBF over like no other starter has in the past. Gone are the days of installing OEM starters every 6 - 8 months due to them burning out.Powermaster is my car's new best friend and they just earned a customer for life. That means a lot to me because I have owned the same 65 GT 350 replicar that I built by hand 30 years ago, I have all the parts receipts from day one, and I return to reliable suppliers.The 9503 is the same starter I have seen in every quality build car of the cars I envy. Powermaster is reliable and an outstanding product built by a company that stands behind their product. I would definitely buy this again if I had to build a new motor, but seeing as this will last forever I will not have to get a replacement.

nice starter turned the engine over pretty quick. had to take the front piece off to get the top bolt through the hole but no biggie.

For some stupid reason, Amazon refuses to merge the two listings.This is a great starter by the way! I had to re-clock it but that was about it! If the manufacturer is listening, please include a terminal shorting kit so we don't have to fabricate our own. It is simple and cheap to make!

I have a 351w block and this starter did not fit. I tried a bunch of configurations with the “infinity” adjustment wheel. The only way that it would properly fit up to the block, you could not get the bolt in because it was right in line with the starter motor. Ironically Powermaster 9162 which is larger, less powerful and less expensive works like a charm. This starter was very disappointing
